Mark Pope "Coming In Hot" on UGA Transfer (Travis Graf)

Bailey we are one of the leaders or main contenders, demary time will tell on him, and Wilkerson, jones keeps mentioning him so that means Kentucky must really want him
Really like Bailey
Seems like a big upgrade over carr athletically, and Carr was very valuable before he was hurt.

Would like to add wilkerson but wouldn't believe a thing jones says

Some of you don't understand who coach Pope is. 1st, he will only recruit guys that want to win, he will never go after the ones that want big Nil. 2nd, They have to be smart!! 3rd, They have to have strong character!! 4th He wants multiple year guys. That takes care of THE FIT, 5th, Talent and need.
If Popes 5th priority is talent, we’ll struggle in this league.

Another player I like that is getting portal rumors is Wesley Yates from usc

SEC battle-tested. Statistically he's poised to make a jump in his 3rd season. Plus he can play defense and is a willing rebounder.

Demary's overall FG% went from 42.4% to 39.6% however his 3pt% went up drastically. 30.3% to 37.4% in 89 more attempts(66 to 155) and his ft% went from 70.6% to 80.4%

Effective FG%(46.2 to 48.5), rebounds, assists, and steals went up as well.

If we get Demaray, does thst mean Acaden Lewis is our #1 pg?
I was hoping he would be our secondary pg until he proved hevwas good enough to take the lead pg role.
No Dem would likely be the starting point guard. I don't see him as better than Lamont but most everyone here seems to think he is great.

If the entire season and last night in particular showed us anything it's that we need to get bigger, quicker and more athletic at a lot of positions. Demary would've been the most athletic guy on our team this year. And he shoots from 3 at a pretty good percentage, especially in catch and shoot, which Pope and the staff really look for.

Dent was my favorite guy in the portal and losing him sucks. But he's from LA and they likely overpaid so what can you do? A lot of the low-information posters here (several of which are in this thread) LOL'd at us signing Butler last year, so let's just see what happens. Pope's got a head start this year and a big NIL budget. Things will work out.
Agreed. We were a finesse team this year, basically we were Creighton with a different style on offense.
That's just not going to work in the SEC. If we want to win the league and get to Final 4's, we need players that can over power teams.
I'm so done with guys that let 5'9" guards just come into the paint and lay the ball in, then get the rebound while our 7 footers stand there and watch.
If we're going to get guys from mid major programs, they need to be guys that can play physical, like Dent.
Demry proved he can thrive in the SEC, so I'm good with getting him, but hopefully he wouldn't be our best option at the pg position.

Why does he need to be better than Lamont? Lamont was great before he had to play with one arm tied behind his back.
Not directed at you, just about the Lamont point.

I mean this with a ton of credit to Lamont but I think folks need a refresher of Lamont’s stats last year before coming to Pope’s offense.

30% 3 point shooter, 59% FT, 2.6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 steals

Love Lamont, his tourney experience, defense, intangibles, etc. but it’s revisionist to think he was some star transfer. People would’ve preferred Demary now over Butler before coming to UK no doubt.

The main difference being we’re looking for a different type/level of player on paper imo.
