I'll never forget with about 2 minutes left in the game with UK having if my memory serves me correctly a 10 point lead. Reality had set in on the Indiana fans that they were going to lose & I'll never forget the camera showing Bobby Knight's wife setting in the crowd crying...... What a special, special win this was.

Several things; that is the greatest regular season win in UK history. I think the 1975 Indiana group is the best team we’ve ever played.

Bobby Knight always maintained the 1975 team was about 8 to 10 points better than the 1976 unbeaten team. Scott May being injured certainly played a factor but that team still scored 90 points against us.

In the late 1990s, Sagarin ranked the top teams since 1974 as;

1. 1996 Kentucky.
2. 1991 UNLV.
3. 1975 Indiana.

When does a college basketball game change your life?

I was on spring break as a college freshman in Ft. Lauderdale. My buddies and i were content to watch the game then just get hammered at a nearby bar. But when Kentucky won in such dramatic fashion, we decided to celebrate at one of those huge multi-floor discos in Lauderdale and I met a Florida Gator cheerleader, a tall blonde who a few years later I married.

We’re not still together but we have a lovely, brilliant daughter who is —wait for it —a professor at the University of Kansas.

That’s awesome stuff.

Was 15 at time watching with my Dad will never forget the celebration.

- JB telling JD Connor & Flynn & Grevey to fire the ball up & then fire some more.
- At end, us calling TO with 5 sec left in game in backcourt because we were trapped, resetting time to get over half court back to 10 sec. POed Knight to no end.
- We failed to make a single 3 point shot.
- State police meeting team bus as it crossed over I-75 bridge into KY from OH to escort them home. People were standing on overpasses and along interstate fences waving power K flags & cheering all the way to Lex.
- It's when men not boys played college hoops.

I hope I was outside enjoying a nice spring day playing in the streets of Lexington. If not, I was probably watching or reading about the Boston Celtics or getting ready for baseball season.... the Reds and my own LL team.

IU didn't make one either. The original line was so faint players kept stepping inside it. 🤪

There wasn't a shot clock either. Don't recall the year, but UC played slow ball vs. UK and we won like 24-13. Don't think UK has scheduled UC in hoops since.

I remember his wife crying with the cameras on her as well. My first UK tournament memory. We watched at a family members house because we could basically get one channel at the time.

Jimmy Dan Conners getting in that fight . Jimmy Dan came really close to winning Anderson co the state championship in 1971 man he was a great high school player arrogant as hell too .

Bobby never forgave Joe after that game.

Mike was an Indiana kid that was overshadowed in HS by Quinn Buckner, who was an IU guard and a future NBA player even though he was a year behind Mike. So that game was personal to him and it showed with how GREAT he played that game!!!

That was my favorite UK team as a kid because it was the first one that I remember as an 8 year old kid watching UK games with my uncles at my grandma's house. Our WHOLE family was ecstatic watching(as others have said above) Bob's wife crying at the end. My uncles joked that was because she knew he was going to beat her up that night.😱😱😜😜
