Malik Monk on ESPNU Tonight at 5:30

Not Just a shooter. Good penetrator and distributor. Rebounds too. Gonna be special. Also talked about how much the staff likes him because of his personality.

0-7 from 3 pt range. Hoping just his wrist. We may struggle next year from
Deep.

I'm not worried. Monk is a 38-40% three point shooter. He had a bad game from deep. It happens.

Monk, Willis, Mulder, Gabriel, and possibly Ulis will be more than enough. If teams go zone, it actually will play to UK's strengths next year because all five starters will offensive rebound out of the opponents zone. Gabriel and Bam flourish on the offensive glass, and guys like Fox can rebound out of the guard position.

Willis and Mulder can bust up zones as situational shooters. Hawkins isn't great, but he's competent. We don't need three Klay Thompson's in order to dominate next year. We just need two or three guys who hit consistently from deep, and UK will have that.

Thanks for the head's up MWes, first time I had a chance to see Monk play. He looked pretty dang good to me. I know his shooting from outside wasn't on last night but I don't take that as a normal thing for him at all and know he can shoot much better than that. But, man, he can just take over a game whenever he wants to. I was especially impressed at how he finds teammates with the pass when you would think there is no way he could possibly see them, unbelievable. Really looking forward to him and the others next year in Rupp.

So athletic, so fluid. His strides with the ball are ridiculous. Gets doubled constantly and still finds a way to dominate. He will be a star at UK. Go Cats

His shot selection is not really good, but in High School a player of his caliber is not going to have very good shot selection. But this kid has a really good stroke. Once he has better shot selection which he will in college, can see this kid shooting lights out. Plus he can really explode off the bounce. Really like his elevation on his jump shot.
"Better shot selection which he will in college"...yes he will need to..signed , Jamal Murray

From watching the game yesterday..... I just kept remembering Ron Mercer. I couldn't of been the only one right? ... yeah I know Mercer was an inch or two taller but the same lift on jump shots and just the mannerisms on attacking the basket...
