Malachi Moreno last night

I know he’s the number one ranked center, but I just want guys who know how to play the game. Moreno just seems like he knows how to play within the team concept. I like that he played for Indy in AAU because they have a great program that really is team oriented. Kinda like Reeds AAU team was.

Athletic ability is nice but I want skills. That’s why I love Acaden Lewis. He hasn’t been hyped and the best player in his class like a Darius Acuff, but he’s very skilled. He also seems like a dude who will stay 2 or 3 years if he needs too and is a perfect college guard in our system.

I love how the staff is prioritizing highly ranked guys, but at the same time seeing how the fit within our system as well. Not just getting the highest ranked player regardless of skill level or fit.

Great post. I agree with all of it. Can’t see Lewis staying more than a year, but I agree he’s the type of guy that might.

He’s extremely skilled. He and Johnson could be a very special backcourt. They both seem to be from what I’ve seen so far.

Looking forward to seeing how he progresses. He won't be a three point threat at all, hope he has some mid-range game. but he's likely here 2-3 years as it is. if he puts on some weight, he could be pretty dominant down low.

26 points, 16 boards, 7 assists, 4 blocks, 1 steal, 1 turnover last night against #5 Ashland. Here he is with the rebound and kick out for the game-tying three to force OT, where Great Crossing would eventually prevail. We got ourselves a good one folks.

So the ball bounced right to him, he turned and threw it to his teammate. Wow, we got us a good one. Seriously I know he's a great prospect but this clip isn't anything spectacular.

I saw a headline saying he opened up with a double double. That's better than I expected from that headline.

It's a video of an 18 year old seven footer spotting the open man and delivering the pass. That's a positive play no matter how entertaining it was.

He does seem to have a good basketball sense about him. Skills look pretty good too. Has body big body that looks like he was a smaller coordinated guy that grew into a bigger body. Only negative is he's not real explosive off his feet but big enough to overcome that with his positioning and reach.

Jonhi Broome was not very skilled outside and he developed into a threat all over the court. If he works hard I can see him developing a nice shot someday. He just needs to be respectable.

Yes Malachi dominated that team because he’s so big but here is a clip from the NBA top 100 camp of the best players in the class. Notice that he runs the floor well, plays decently strong in the post and can really pass the ball. He also has very good hands. Also making an appearance is our boy Acaden Lewis!

That’s the route AD took. Hope so. Like your thinking

He has a nice-looking body, moves and passes well. Just curious, he dwarfed everyone. How tall was Ashland's tallest player ??
To my view, with such a size advantage, he should get more than 16 rebounds. He must play away from the basket a lot.
Still, though, he looks pretty good !!
