Maker to HOWARD

Pretty clear that Makur isn’t serious about college basketball and isn’t serious about getting better. He’s essentially wasting 8-9 months.

The coaching, the pressure, the competition in practice- simply won’t be good enough to make him much better.

But thats OK. The guy will probably end up in the nba regardless. If going hbcu is important, then more power to him.

Good luck kid, his “handlers” have failed him. “I need to make the HBCU movement real so that others will follow. I hope I inspire guys like Mikey Williams to join me on this journey.” I’m sure Mikey will follow in his footsteps too

(the one OP did call the HBCU thing last week although Maker wasn’t specified)

Good publicity for Howard & other HBCU. Wonder if he'll actually end up playing there, though?

Hey! Outside of Kentucky, the only other team I root for is my alma mater!. HUGE get for the Bison although I still don't think he touches the court. If anything, it puts our name out there.
I think you already have a formidable ambassador for Howard University in Kamala Harris.

Yeah, in my day, we fought for desegregation. Now these stupid kids want to undo it. I'm at a loss for words.

Uh, we aren't segregated. I'm a white male who attended HU and there were plenty like me, especially in our school of law. It's a great school. Seems like there are plenty of misconceptions about the HBCU experience.

I wouldn't even waste time recruiting a Maker . Them boys ain't serious about big time basketball.
May not be the kids but a lot of these international imports coming from poor countries end up with handlers that are strictly in it for a pay day. I wouldn't waste my time with most, perhaps only if the staff had a prior positive relationship with a host family or something like that.

I think this is great if he was not going to come to UK. Would you have been happy if he picked Memphis????? Let that program sink with Penny. He goes to Howard has no influence because he isn't Larry Bird and will have a winning team just because he is on it. So, fade away in college is fine with me.

I played AAU basketball on an all-black team (minus me) in the early to mid-2000s. Maybe it was just jealousy from other black parents and players, but none of them experienced racism like I did.

Lol the headline writes itself with him picking a HBCU. Of course some soft sjw would go crying if I said it.

Like Bill said, I don’t get this desire by a lot of black people today, particularly young, to go back to segregation. Hell I’ve seen a bunch of it on twitter where people say they wish it had never ended or that they could go back to being segregated. Maker isn’t talented enough to overcome going to a school like Howard. His stock will drop like a rock.
