M & M to UK more of a possibility now

In the general sense, you're correct - but failing to land Murray, Maker, or Brown at this point will likely ultimately be the difference in a contending team next season, and a second tier team.

That's the reality.

I think we need two of those three to be top 3 in the country. Just one, will help us significantly. I see Muarry as a favorite. Less odds on Maker, and I'd be stunned to get a commitment from Brown. We need an athletic wing, but now we could go three guards with Muarry. He can score and is athletic.

I understand when people think like this, but my question to you and others on the board who feel next season is doomed...who exactly do you think is the top tier team next year? I can see Maryland, Duke, maybe UNC, maybe Virginia, maybe Michigan. Kansas will be good again like always and probably Arizona too. But comparing rosters, do you really think UK next year as-is can't compete with these teams.

If UK doesn't get Brown, Murray, or Maker that will only be a difference of a 22-8 or 23-7 type of regular season versus a 26-4 or 27-3 regular season. But because college basketball by-in-large will be so down next year, there is no defenitive team or teams that are so far ahead of everyone else. At 22-8 or 23-7, UK could still be playing for something special. UK has talent next year and a lot of it, they just don't have the depth we've seen the last 2 years.
