Lunardi's latest NCAA projections...

Not that it matters a month from selection sunday, but that would be the easiest bracket we've had in 20-25 years. Villanova and maryland are so overrated it's ridiculous. Nova might be a 7 or 8 loss team right now in a decent conference. They have played 3 top-50 rpi teams and have lost by double digits in 2 of them.

I would not want to see Texas in the 2nd round at all. This isn't the Rick Barnes Texas teams. This team would give UK major trouble inside. I also think if UK plays well down the stretch, we will jump to a 2/3 seed.

UK fans really can't complain unless we draw UNC in our region. With Meeks, Hicks, Jackson, and Johnson, they're just a bad matchup for UK's foul-prone frontline.

Texas would be a tough matchup, but at some point UK is going to have to face a decent frontline. You just hope it's not the type of frontline that possesses the depth of a UNC.

I agree with that, but Duke at 5 is crazy. If Duke wins out they should be a 5, but at this point in time a 5? No way.

Agreed. But all the mediocre teams currently occupying the top 4 seeds may be hard pressed to stay there the rest of the way. Kansas may lose another 1-2 games and end up a 1 OVERALL seed with 6 losses! Just one of those years. When teams like Xavier and Iowa and Villanova are fighting for 1 seeds then you know it's one of those years. I'm not saying a 1 seed will lose to a 16 but I wouldn't be surprised if 2-3 1 seeds don't make it past the opening weekend.

Ya I get what you are saying and I agree with all of it. I am just talking about the seeding predictions. It seems like Duke has been able to move the needle much more than other schools coming off of wins. The headline after they beat Virginia was "Duke is now in the tournament." A 5 seed is not a team that just solidified themselves as a tournament team.

I'm not worried about Duke, I don't care what seed they get.

As a previous poster said I wouldn't want UNC to be in our region though.

Whoever plays kentucky is going to have to figure out a way to match up with us, not the other way around. UNC and Texas would be shaking in their boots if they have Kentucky in their bracket. UK's backcourt is the best in the country. If UK plays the way they did the other day, I'm not worried about any team.

I see it this way as well. I think if we can get just enough out of Willis, Lee, and Skal (even Humphries) down low then our backcourt advantage could be the difference. If we get Poy back I think it would ultimately neutralize any frontcourt advantage purely from a defensive standpoint based on our backcourt advantage.

Duke has the same record as Kentucky and I believe (without looking) that Duke is Kentucky's best win. Kenpom and RPi have them at 11 and 17 respectively. Five seed sounds about right to me. I would probably bump Knetucky up to a 3 seed right now though.

I'm not sure what seed they'll get and truthfully considering the circumstances I'd be happy just getting a seed. (lol) and I think they've certainly solidified that greatly in winning four in a row recently with two of the wins being over teams ranked in the top 13. They're 19-6 now and 8-4 in the league without a key starter the entire league season and a very thin roster. They're not beating Carolina this week and that game at Louisville after could be an L but they are in good shape if they close out well.

The Jefferson thing is strange, he is doing light practice but yet doesn't dress out and still has the boot on. And there has been no talk of a medical redshirt. At this point why not redshirt and play with Giles and Tatum next year? very odd.

I would assume he has played too many games to take a medical redshirt.

You beat me to it. Texas would be our toughest game but I think we beat them by 8 or 10 on a neutral court.
Nova and Maryland were the 2 I was hoping to see. If they replace Texas with a team like Oregon I would immediately start shopping for FF tickets.
We deserve that bracket after all the "bracket of Doom" regions we've been put in.

Give UK some BIG10 officials and they win. Just watch any BIG game and you will see what I'm talking about. There are guys flying out if the paint like they were shot out of a cannon and no whistle is blown.
I hope everyone else is forced to play their games with SEC refs.

If Jefferson comes back he won't be in game shape and it might cause a disruption honestly.
Duke might be better off not trying to get him back in the lineup.

I have seen Kansas lose 7 times. I don't know what u folks are talking about. They had 3 or 4 more losses last year than what was shown in the brackets & the squawks got blown out by the Shock. In 2014 I also saw them lose 3 or 4 more games than was reported & that brilliant team with that incredible player got spanked by the Cardinal. So I know what I am talking about.
