Lunardi's latest bracket has 13 SEC teams with UK a 3-seed

12-6 in the SEC gives us a 2 in my opinion. You gotta remember there will likely be at least 5 SEC teams on the top 3 seed lines, but there isn’t gonna be 5 teams with records better than 12-6 in conference.

And to that point, we’re currently 4-3 in conference (which would average out close to 10-8), and we’ve been stable in terms of our projected seed compared to where we were before conference play. So if we go 8-3 in the last 11 games we will only move up compared to where we’re projected now.

In general I think the goal should be 11-7 and I can’t imagine that’s lower than a 3 seed
I agree, 11-7 gets us a 3 as long as the committee doesn’t mess us over. I would love one of those wins to be Auburn and Tennessee at home. That would make for an impressive resume.

We'd be a 3 knocking on the door for 2 seed with that record.

If Houston and Iowa State dominate the conference and meet in the conference finals, 4 SEC teams could be on that 2 seed line.

I think if we go 8-3 with wins over Auburn and @ Alabama we get a #1 seed. I know 23-8 doesn’t sound like #1 seed material, but the quality of the wins would be hard to ignore.

In that scenario, we'd have to finish tied for second in the conference. If Bama in particular finishes ahead of us, they'd get first consideration for that second 1 seed from the conference due to a slightly better record and volume of quality wins. They are currently 7-1, a nice cushion over us. They do have to play Auburn twice, on the road at UT, home against us, and home against Florida. There is potential for accumulating some losses. I think they are positioned to get that 2nd 1 seed from the conference at the moment. It will take inspired play from us and some help for us to leap frog them.

An SEC tournament final appearance could get us 2 more quad 1 wins, giving us a theoretical record of 13-7 vs quad 1. A championship would be icing on the cake, but historically the committee has ignored the result. Outdoing Bama in the SEC tournament could be "tie-breaker" in a sense if we finished tied in the SEC regular season.

Right now we really should be a 2 seed based on 7 quad 1 wins but more important 6 of those being quad 1A wins.

No one in the country except Auburn has that many (they also have 6 QA1 wins)

The losses to Ohio State, Vandy, Georgia, Clemson obviously holding us back but our resume is way better than Maquette, Purdue, Kansas ect.

I think the goal needs to be a 2 or 3.

Either one doesn't matter too much but you don't want to slip to a 4 for several reasons. 1) your prob seeing the 1 seed eariler. Tougher road and 2) you are going to less than ideal locations for your first two games.
We are likely to have played three of the four 1 seeds by the tournament.

There are two schools of thought....:)

My question is,, how can Tennessee still be seeded higher than Kentucky. Tennessee has lost 3 straight including Kentucky beating them in Knoxville.
