If Arizona wins they likely jump UK and bump them down to a 4 seed

A loss by Wisconsin and/or Maryland would help UK as well

We’ll be lucky to make the Sweet 16 either way unless Butler plays and plays well. We’re really in a bind at Point Guard and playing any kind of effective defense.

We are losing in the 1st weekend. We just lost by 30, and our PG won't be fully healthy in a week.

This team even at full strength was losing head scratching basketball games.

Certainly possible, but probably good to remember that Lunardi gets paid to keep people clicking. Pretending like every game causes up and down movement is a good way to do that.

What we’ve traditionally seen is that the bracket is largely locked by today. We may already be a 3 who is too difficult to move regardless of what other teams do this weekend.

We are a 4 seed probably deserve a 5 with injures and getting blasted. Won’t be shocked to see KY lose early. Guard play wins in March and we are outmanned in that department. Been a fun year with some huge wins, Pope and staff need to be watching the waiver wire and getting ready for next year

Great attitude. We’ve been a top 8 team in the country over the past month prior to last night. I’m also guessing you have no idea how healthy Butler will be.

Odds are we lose the first weekend, but that’s just math and will be true of every 3/4 seed going in. Unless we get worse news on Butler, we will have way more than a puncher’s chance at Sweet 16.

I saw your exchange with another poster last night that you deleted. Ever wonder why you bring out the worst in so many here? Its clearly by design. Not anything to be proud of at all.

Maybe you’ll man up and grow out of it?

A reasonable Spring for UK fans:
1. Pope wins round one of the tournament
2. UK signs Nate Ament
3. UK locks up four high-level portal players
4. Oweh returns

That's reasonable. What won't be reasonable is watching UK go soft on portal offers again.

Lunardi doesn’t know. He thinks he does, but he is just like the rest of us, he is speculating. Only difference is he gets paid to try to guess what the committee is going to do, while we just do it for fun.

Remember, he works for ESPN. He wants Big Blue eyeballs on that Houston/Zona game.

Personally. I think we are firmly on the 3 line. 11 Q1 wins out of 21 Q1 games. Nobody else on that 3 seed line has that many Q1 wins or games.

But remember this, the committee has a lot of wiggle room and can justify doing whatever they want. If they feel it benefits the tourney to move UK to a 4, they can and say whatever they want. They can talk about injury uncertainty, they can talk about 11 losses. They can use a variety of things to do what they want. If the pieces don’t fit like they want them to, they shuffle things around to do as they will.

Nothing is guaranteed. They can move us a seed line down, just because they want to see us potentially play this team or that team.

I don't care how anyone on here interprets my attitude. The bottom line is, we finished 6th in the SEC, we lost 11 games, and Bama beat us by 30. Was that mostly due to injuries? Probably. I'm not a fortune teller, so I can't say it with certainty. I'm not gonna bash anyone over how they choose to fan right now, unless they are completely over the top.

I would love Ament off that list.
I'm only big on Ament because I think Pope needs the "can he recruit guys from outside the state" monkey off his back, but I also see the Rick Pitino rationale of recruiting only portal players.

Ament will cost UK a pretty penny. Some are saying as much as $2 million. There's probably 2 to 3 high level portal guys we can have for that price.

I’m not opposed to bringing him in. I just wouldn’t put that in the reasonable category. I don’t think it’s something we can totally control.

Puncher's chance? We'll be favored in both of our first two games regardless of Butler's status.

Think ament or the portal is one or the other type situation

UK is a 3 and shouldn’t be in any danger of being a 4. Butler didn’t play last night, UK had less than a day of rest, starting Travis Perry against all-americans, and Nick Saban may as well have been the coach of Alabama last night. Team can still absolutely make the second weekend.

I said we would have much more than a puncher’s chance.

We could be 75% to win game one and 55% to win game two. That would give us a 41% chance to make the Sweet 16.

So while we probably won’t have a statistical expectation of making the Sweet 16, 41% (or thereabouts) is much more than a puncher’s chance.

Wisconsin was down 9 and is now up 4 at half. Really need them to lose. If they win they definitely jump (or stay above) UK.

You got to love Jerry Palm he has had Kentucky as a 4 seed for weeks now including before yesterday.

Kentucky gets smashed last night and he now moves Kentucky today to a 3 seed

The biggest glaring weakness for Kentucky compared to all the teams vying for the 3/4 seed lines is quad 2 games

We only have 1 win in quad 2 while the others have 6,7,8 of them.

So what is better 11 quad 1 wins plus 1 quad 2 win
or
Maryland 8 quad 1 + 6 quad 2
Wisc 7 quad 1 + 10 quad 2
Iowa St 9 quad 1 + 7 quad 2
Texas A&M 7 quad 1 + 9 quad 2
Arizona 10 quad 1 + 4 quad 2

If we are 12th we go out West ? Is that good or bad ? Do we get Cleveland or Milwaukee for first 2 rounds or are they taken already ? We don't want to double down going West for 1st/2nd rounds.

Rather have a 4 seed in South or East or a 3 seed in the West ?

So why do we have 2 different threads on the same thing ?

Anyway a guy who ranks 7th overall in bracket matrix that I follow has this update this morning for his

Kentucky is his #10 overall that feels right
