This is the least tallented team he will ever have. He had almost no time to put together a team and still had a great record against the top 15 teams despite a lot of injuries. Unlike our last coach he loves this program and works his a$$ off.

Wish I could shake Coach Pope’s hand and thank him for the past year. Then tell him to get some sleep and get up early, because he has to put together a championship contender for next season! 😁
I’m cautiously optimistic about Pope. Let’s see what transpires in the off season. What he does recruiting wise will say a lot about what he does over the next few years.

He instilled pride in these players about what it means to wear the UK jersey. Pope being consoled by Butler showed that the loss hurt. While CCC wanted to win, I am convinced that it never hurt him when he lost in the tournament. To CCC, UK was just a premium job. To Pope UK is a passion.
