Louisville Ranked 4th in ACC Division

TPE, as we talked before; UL's offense will be handicapped by the O-line all year. I don't really think it's gonna matter if it's first game or last. That will be UL's offensive hurdle. And to be honest, I don't think they are gonna overcome it this year. That's why the good UL defense is gonna be what wins them games.

And like I said before, UK's offensive line scares me. We have all these great skilled players who may not live up to the potential just because of our poor O-line.

Having said that....I would still take UK's line over UL's.

Clemson has talent but the issue with them is this:

1. Chad Morris their OC is now the HC for SMU.

2. They return only if I not mistaken 4 Total Starters from 2014....they lost their entire Front Seven on Defense including all of their backups and return only 1 OLinemen which was their Center in 2014.

3. Their QB DeShawn Watson is recovering from torn ACL Surgery.

Now they have recruited extremely well but no way should they be IMO favored to win the ACC Over FSU and Georgia Tech

Clemson could best case go 11-1 and worst case end up 7-5 if Watson is out for the year and some other unfortunate things happen. Dabo has recruited extremely well and is easily the second most talented team in the conference behind FSU (but not far behind).

If Watson remains healthy then the offense will be very good, very explosive. They return their entire backfield and all but one WR/TE, who was a role guy. The OL is in good shape, but they will need to lean on Fr. Mitch Hyatt at LT due to the departure of Isiah Battle mid-summer.

Offensive play calling shouldn't be an issue as the two guys who took over have been there several years and prepared as though they would assume this role for the past 2 seasons. They actually prepared the call sheets for many games. The performance in the bowl game shows signs of optimism.

Clemson has a favorable home schedule with GT, FSU and ND at home so that has a lot to do with it. Also, given the weapons available and Watsons ability Clemson could be a major player come seasons end.

The defense lost a lot but not quite as bad as it was referenced above. 2 starting LBs are gone but a guy like Ben Boulware played a lot and is an absolute stud. The D-line has a good mix of experience and elite freshman talent. We'll see how it works out for them. Venables is a great coach. Shaq Lawson steps into a starting role at DE and is probably one of 2-3 best DEs in the ACC.

Clemson has always recruited extremely well and then underachieved. They choke more than most programs. They always have an embarrassment of riches and do nothing with it.

That's not really the case the last 3-4 years though. They have clearly turned the corner and can recruit and play against/with anyone. They did choke at FSU last year, but the Noles are also a very good team.

You have no way of knowing the UL O-line is awful? Based on what? The fact is the UL O-line is all new and nobody has seen them play as a unit.

Anyone that follows both teams know this is going to be UL's major weakness. I do know Tom Jurich controls the media so much that most UL fans are brainwashed (like you) so you probably don't believe that. Hell, you probably think UL is favored to win the title.

But I would say the majority of UL fans that have posted here have all said they are worried about the line play. I know TPE has. Just like he agreed that UK's line is going to be better. And trust me, UK's line isnt going to be good either.

You are so right, but I have seen Auburn play several time & Louisville will get creamed .

I am encouraged from what I saw...a more athletic line and very long...my problem is 4 brand new starters...in time can be a good group but early on not so sure.

The same Auburn that went 1-4 down the stretch last year...breaking in a new QB and their best player with a huge cloud over his head...ok.

Louisville O line was terrible last year and lost three starters.

Not that hard to form an opinion that they will struggle.
Well, they have a coach who was the first line coach in cfb history to lead the nation in rushing yardage (twice) and in passing yardage. He also had 3 backs at Nevada gain over 1,000 yards one year. The resume for Klenakis is pretty impressive. His presence is one major reason why Louisville fans don't dismiss the possibility that the O Line could actually end up being very good. The recruiting for O Line talent was hugely focused on last season. many JUCO's and well-regarded freshmen will compete for playing time this season, learning from a national leader in the art of line play.

The three best lineman are gone and there is serious depth issues. It is not crazy to think it is a concern.

No doubt the line is one heck of a concern. It's huge, crank. No less, there are also the concerns about WR, the secondary and QB. This is not the 6th ranked team which BobbyP handed to Kragthorpe, lol.
