The reporting is the NCAA will make a final ruling by tomorrow or Friday. Assuming the NCAA maintains the vacation of records will UofL have to remove everything immediately? So, theres a decent chance the banner comes down.

Do you think the banner will still be up by there tip time on Sunday?

They will probably give them like 30-60 days to remove ... so probably not yet, but coming very soon!

No. The NCAA has already made its ruling to strip the banner. The decision tomorrow is about U6's AWFUL appeal ("Prostitutes were available to ALL students. Not just basketball players/recruits.). Per NCAA rules the banner is part of a reward for a game that has been vacated already and it has to come down right away.
I hope you are right. The bottomline is the banners are coming down whether it is this week or a month from now.

I don't think they'd leave it up long knowing they have to look at something that doesn't really exist anymore. Wonder how much for both the banner and the Pitino mugshot

Where are you all seeing that the ruling is coming tomorrow or Friday? I'm not finding that anywhere...........

I'm not sure if there has been any additional information on this. The only thing I have seen is a tweet from Rick Bozich about 3 weeks ago. The UofL AD Vince Tyra said he expected to hear something from the NCAA by January 18th.

There's no other confirmation that I'm aware of, and no foundation provided by Tyra as to why he thinks he will hear something by tomorrow.

I don't understand why just because you have a certain maximum time to make a decision, they can't make it sooner. What the hell changed in the last 4 days? Come on NCAA.

I agree with you. Personally I wouldn't have been surprised if the NCAA decided the fate of their appeal the second Pitino scoffed/laughed at their original decision.

"Not only was this unjust and over the top in its severity," the (former)coach said at a news conference, "but I've lost a lot of faith in the NCAA."

Chief hearing officer Carol Cartwright also dismissed the idea that the amount of money involved — estimated by the NCAA to be at least $5,400 — was relatively small.

"In this case, we felt that any of the acts, on their own, would be Level 1 and be inappropriate," Cartwright said in a conference call.

They wanted Cal's 500 win basketball removed PDQ

This is probably the case.

IIRC, Memphis didn't officially remove the banner until the next season. Louisville will try to pull a few things more than likely and keep it up. I know Memphis was going to put their banner in the practice facility and the ncaa said no. They'll delay, could take a while, but that mf'er is coming down one way or the other.

I have no faith left in the NCAA after the UNC debacle. I still think there is a better than average chance they change their mind and reverse the ruling.

Not gonna happen.

I don't know why people can't let this idea go. They were nailed by the FBI for trying to pay a player 100,000 dollars. This DURING an appeal about hookers to recruits with university funds. The media is waiting on this, and the media favors professionalism so they can't wait to write up how the ncaa is a worthless body. It's not going to happen, even if the ncaa wanted to, they can't let Louisville go.

Louisville picked the worst possible time, and the worst possible infractions, in the worst possible order. If the ncaa let them go, there are no more rules, and no more ncaa.

Unless you are under the opinion that the ncaa wants to lose all of its control, there's no reason to believe they will let Louisville keep their wins

And seriously with the UNC case. It's nothing similar in the least. The ncaa had something to work with to let them go, they've got nothing to worth with regarding Louisville.

NCAA doesn't have the balls to remove a championship, so the 2013 banner stays.

2012 final four will be gone though.
