LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The NCAA enforcement staff has responded to the University of Louisville's reply to allegations against it surrounding the sex-for-recruits scandal within its men's basketball program.

From the 118-page redacted NCAA response released on Thursday, the six major takeaways:

1. The NCAA has roundly rejected arguments U of L made in its defense involving strippers and prostitutes being provided for recruits at the men's basketball dorm, arranged and paid for by former director of basketball operations Andre McGee. It did not agree with U of L's claim that several dollar amounts were inflated, essentially saying that the dollar amount did not matter, given the severity of the violations. "Whether the sexual intercourse, arranged and funded by the institution, is valued at $200 or $400 is immaterial," the staff wrote. In its conclusion, the staff repeated the phrase, "The violations occurred as

2.
The enforcement staff rejected arguments Rick Pitino offered in his own defense, reiterating its stance that while he did not know about the events, he did not monitor McGee in the way NCAA rules require. "It is clear that neither Pitino nor his assistant coaches monitored McGee," the staff said.

3. At least one player or former player told the NCAA, "It was common knowledge among his teammates that the adult entertainment was occurring in Minardi. [He] reported that whenever a highly sought after prospect was visiting the institution, adult entertainers were in the dormitory."

4. NCAA enforcement also rejected the school's claim that it be given consideration for exemplary cooperation in the investigation, saying U of L did what was required but did not go above and beyond that. U of L also argued that a "history of major violations" should not be considered an aggravating factor in assigning penalties. The NCAA enforcement staff said it would defer to the committee's decision on this.

5. The NCAA believes former program assistant Brandon Williams -- who has been charged with a major violation for not turning over his cell phone to investigators -- fits the description of a man who gave Katina Powell cash before she went to meet prospect Antonio Blakeney and his guardian at a Louisville hotel during an AAU Tournament. But -- and this is an important distinction to note -- the NCAA has not charged Williams with that, which means that its evidence either doesn't prove it, or that other evidence might indicate differently.

6. This response from the NCAA sets the stage for a hearing before the NCAA committee on infractions, likely sometime this summer.

if this is true, we can only hope it means pitino is fired like he should have been.

Lol. UofL will not fire Pitino. Hell, he got a raise after the Sypher scandal. NO ONE at that school is ever held accountable. Your AD just lies for them and does and says crazy shit when they get in trouble to show he "has their back".

They had their chance to convince him to leave last year and hire maybe Chris Mack. They are rolling with Pitino until the bitter end, no matter what happens.

That ass gonna be spanked!!

Now, if only the powers that be would have the guts to lay the smack-down on those UNCheaters.

As a parent and grand parent I don't understand where the lawsuits are against UL? They have admitted on record that these things went on.

Item #4 should be the point to really tighten the noose with final judgement imo

Pitino= show cause
He'll be in the NBA next year
Lying to NCAA
Not monitoring assistants
Not coming clean and disciplining anyone.
UofL= No post season, No Pitino next year.
That's what I expect will happen.

Sadly, there's bound to be SO MUCH MORE that we don't know about it. The info revealed is probably only a squirt on the ceiling.....er, drop in the bucket.

Alford to iusedtobe looking more likely by the hour.
If that happens, then 3stax to lala land? i could see that.

Remember the Penn ST. Jerry Sandusky situation? There weren't even any NCAA violations but there was criminal activity. I don't even think Sandusky's org was actually a part of the athletic dept. at PSU. But the NCAA came in and hammered PSU. Vacated wins and banned Joe Pa as well. The NCAA is used to dealing with their member institutions violating recruiting rules etc. But those are just the rules of the NCAA. It isn't criminal or illegal. But in this case you have UL resorting to CRIMINAL ACTIVITY (prostitution) while violating NCAA rules. This is a pretty big deal imo. And since UL has shown no inclination to do anything in regards to Pitino (Jurich backs him 100% as he has said) the NCAA will have to do what UL has refused to do and that is remove Pitino. He probably will never coach at any NCAA institution again. Wins vacated. No wins = No Championship. Oh, and uh, return all
of that money from those tournaments to defray the cost of this investigation, too.

Not just prostitution but promotion of prostitution of minors, including a 15 year old.

That hole should burn just like Fifteeno's scrotum.

Best case scenario, the program gets gutted and after Pitino is gone since no one will want the job, Tom Crean takes over

I still don't know how UL is dodging a full blown investigation by the State's Attorney General. Prostiution at a state run institution and no crime committed? Come on Commonwealth you can do better than that.

If there is justice then UL gets hammered to Kingdom Come and somebody goes to prison. And Pitino never coaches again on the college level.

if the financial sanctions hit heavy, how will pitino pay the prostitutes' bills?? They will demand a raise.

Zippy isn't going to be happy with you.
I honestly dont care what the pitino urinal cake eating crowd thinks. The man is living off of his past accomplishments and is stealing money essentially from the university. He should have been fired when the stripper news became reality. there is no way he didnt know what was going on.

Two years probation, Tommy Turtle neck and Mr " the money was only for health insurance fired " and the banner comes down should be about right

When he says he didn't know, he's lying.
the man knows the body fat of 15 players and what they ate the night before.
He knew about a player pissing in gaterade bottles in the dorm, and sent that player packing.

it will always stick out as odd that blakeney committed and around the time powell claims she contacted Louisville, Blakeney decommitted.

McGee was coaching at another university, but the stripper shows didnt stop so how is he a lone wolf?

Pitino is scum, and I am a diehard cardinal fan, I will be a happier Cardinal when we part ways with Pitino.

It's not like Louisville would have a hard time getting a good coach. In reality, they'd probably do even better with a new head coach. The whole university does well in sports so no doubts they'd get a good coach. Who that would be, I don't know.

Pitino was a dick at Kentucky and a dick at Louisville.

They could have found 100 times better on campus for free.

I am a good friend of an Uncle of Mike Abram. He always had a good looking blonde on his arm and sometimes several. He drove one girls Corvette for pretty long time. He wouldn't have looked at the Pitino whores if he had been drunk.
