Junior college quarterback Stephen Johnson will announce his college decision Sunday mid-afternoon. It's been reported 4 p.m. EST elsewhere. I have heard a more vague time but the same idea. Guessing he will announce it via Twitter.
I can report that Johnson is expected to commit to Kentucky. Part of that is UK's willingness to accept his commitment, and I can also report that they have reached that point, too.
Johnson spent plenty of Eddie Gran and Darin Hinshaw while on his official visit. They went over pretty much everything and I'm told they're still very excited about bringing him in and very much feel like he fell in their laps.
For what it's worth, I'm very confident that Johnson had pretty well decided on Kentucky even before visiting. But the visit made since because they could make it work and because it's always good to get a guy on campus and make sure he'll be a good fit.
Johnson will be enrolling at Kentucky right at the tail end of the enrollment period for the spring semester (I believe around Jan. 18). He'll be the third scholarship quarterback on the roster joining Drew Barker and Gunnar Hoak.
