What area needs to improve the most to lift the "ceiling/ margin of error" for this team.
Which players development would benefit this teams the most?

Garrison development is the key to this team making some noise in March.

I also think at some point Noah will have to get some minutes from Jaxson.
What!!!

This is not a knock on either of them. But Perry nor Noah shouldn't play in competitive games. Now if someone has an injury that may change, I think they are capable. But as the 11th & 12th men, there simply aren't the minutes for them.
Now next year they may contribute more, and I think by JR year could be key contributors.

Just gonna ignore my Garrison comment??

Noah has some potential and a ton of hustle. Would be interesting to me to see him get minutes against better competition.

We lose this entire team other than those two freshmen at the end of the year.

I was surprised at how raw Chandler looked in his few minutes! I don't think perry or Noah are ready for that!

For sure they are not ready.

That is why they need development this year. They should look entirely different by March IF they get development work and an opportunity for meaningful minutes.

If we lose this entire team other than Perry and Noah ... the "Banners" and "Front of the Jersey" talk mean nothing and everyone will have to face the reality of the new landscape in college basketball and that KY is no different than anywhere else. I suspect we only lose the seven (7) Seniors this year, based on what we've been told the assignment is that it is understood by coaches AND the players. To lose Oweh, Garrison and Chandler, only returning Perry and Noah, would be very disappointing, but I will be able to deal with it ... hell, all of us will ... we'll have no choice but to trust that Pope will hit the portal hard and reload. GO CATS !!

We have 6 super Seniors, a Senior, a Junior, and a Sophomore. That’s 9 guys ahead of any Freshmen. None of the Freshmen should be playing much in big games. 9 deep is plenty deep enough when everyone is able to give you productive minutes.

Agreed. I think Garrison and Chandler's improvement, in particular, will give us a bigger boost in March. Garrison seems to be in the point center mold and you can see flashes of some real potential there, and I think the game will slow down for Chandler and he'll use that athleticism to be the driving threat we need when a team like Duke tries to extend their defense. He can still keep them honest from outside, as well.

And then just general experience playing together, you can see on some of their passes that they're not all on the same page with the cuts to the basket.

It will take all guys getting to know each other more and more on the court. It will take Chandler coming along when we have Oweh and Brea in foul trouble. It takes Almonor banging down low. It takes Butler being just 10% more consistent on offense, be it driving or shooting the 3. It takes Kerr getting on a heater more often. The thing we have is the want to, love of KENTUCKY, love of each other, love of the coaches. The team has tons of work to do, they have 2 weeks to really fine tune things and hopefully be 10% better when we go to Clemson. We get better each day and we will be fine. It seems like this team loves the grind. Loves the fight. It has been so long since we have had a group like this. Imagine if KAT team would have had 25% of the hardcore attitude and drive this team seems to have. Cal would not have been able to have lost with that. Pope is building something that he just has to put in the game plan and they do it. By March if they continue down this path we will see it and that itchy feeling of heck if we put up a stinker of a game we are out early again, that feeling will be gone. We will have that feeling like we had from 93-98 teams. Man we thought we were beating just about anybody and mostly did. We had teams worried about how to handle our teams. But Pope might be a better game tactician than Pitino. He made every correct move in the 2nd half. That play the game right karma stuff he is talking about.

Need Robinson to be Robinson everyone else played great Robinson can’t be a no show
He was in a funk for more than just last night. The game before atleast from memory. He did some good things last night in the 2nd half though. I think he was 0-4 but it felt like his shooting was missing big time.

Need to get better at making layups. Seems like we have missed 2-3 easy layups every game. Also, improve free throw shooting. Props to Williams on that note, he looked much better on the line last night.

Nitpicking at this point but better offensive rebounding. I trust it will improve as the season goes on.
That's not nitpicking. Rebounding and defending the rim are this team's two greatest weaknesses.

That is the reason I think Garrison is the key to how far this team can go in March. If he develops and improves just a little bit, he can help this team tremendously in the paint.

I don't want to jinx it but its possible we could be 8-0 going into the Gonzaga game.

For once I'm not thinking about March, I'm thinking about now and loving every minute of it.

I get it, but so many damn vultures here want to take everything out of context. If you so much as point out any weakness where the team can get better, they are waiting to jump all over you making a federal case about it and pull your fan card.

I know what you are saying.
The ignore button can be your best friend. It is usually the same 3-4 posters.

Your life on here will be better without them.

This! I believe Pope will play 10 with Chandler being the 10th man. I don't believe Chandler or Almonor as the 9th guy will be many minutes against better opponents. But they will still get some but against good competition 8 players will get the majority of minutes.
Perry and Noah will get minutes against the mid major teams that remain on the schedule. Come January they won't play against SEC teams unless the Cats are up big in a few games.
Nothing wrong with that. They are what typical Freshmen used to be. Play more next year and likely play a lot of minutes by years 3 and 4.

I actually hope we redshirt Noah. I'd rather have him in the program for five years and have a 23 year-old senior in a few years. He's not going to play much on this roster, and he needs to get strong if he's going to play the college small forward spot.

I agree on Garrison. He's got such potential.

Noah and Perry are victory cigar guys this season. 11th and 12th men.
