He is not very good. Gets waaaaaay too cute. He has his moments but the bad far outweighs the good. He knows this is his chance to make a name for himself and he tries to go away from the boring things that are working and make the WOW call that will get him noticed. Completely unnecessary.

That is a huge part of the problem which isn’t Scangrellos fault. Most OCs weren’t going to stand out coming in after Cohen but Scangrello has “smartest guy in the stadium” syndrome. IMO it’s the absolute worst thing an OC can do.
You can’t field an offense this bad even with your QB out. We still have some of the best playmakers UKs ever had out there. It doesn’t have to be this bad.
UL didn’t have their QB and still won against a conference opponent. This is not an excuse against one of the worst teams in the SEC.

As someone who defended him last week, you're wrong here. We're running pitch plays from shotgun for runs between the tackles. Moving the TE's with opposite motion for 1 yard QB keeps. None of our pass plays until the 4th quarter have come from a traditional pocket (most have come on the run) except the PA TD to the TE.
Scangarello either has a concept that is too difficult to grasp at this level, doesn't have the guys to pull it off (which even Coen had to adjust for last year) or is just a bad OC.
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt here but the O-Line completely whiffing with regularity on passing downs tells me they don't understand the scheme. Could be Yenser, but is likely the overall offensive gameplan.
He's just too stubborn. Also he takes way too long to get the play call in. I believe we need to let him and his OL buddy go at the end of the Season. I wouldn't mind doing it now honestly. Two games in a row lost due to our OC play calling. He will not adjust.

Our 2nd best RB of all time is trying to catch the ball out of the backfield and run reverses to WR's. You could put me back there and scheme up a way to score more than 7 points with C-Rod in the backfield. He gets cute, it gets blown up and we're behind the sticks on the drive.

Eddie Gran won without a QB period. This guy scored 19 pts last week with the #1 pick in the draft, the best RB we’ve ever had and the most talented WR core. So against non cupcake opponents we’ve scored 26, 19, & 7ish tonight. What do you think his offense is going to look like next year when 2 of those things are gone? I’ll give you a hint, they still have one of them tonight.

Wow, it's almost like you are saying our OC isn't making adjustments (like simple dig/slant routes and, I don't know, allowing the backup to make plays that aren't rollouts).

Man you just completely phoned it in there. It’s almost like there was nothing else you could say.
The way the poster I was responding to was replying was implying that we are losing because we have our backup QB in the game. I'm arguing that our OC is once again having a poor night regardless of who is back there. My bigger point was that you can't be that vanilla (while still trying to seem like a "pro" offense) and expect to win a game at this level.
The guy defending our OC strikes me as the "Say it to my face and not online" type of guy when no one here is making any kind of personal argument. If you can't score more than 7 points against USC with Chris Rodriguez in the backfield, you deserve criticism.
