Lot of kids want to play for UK, Duke, etc....does that mean you take them? And lots of highly thought of players by the scouts/ranked high want to play for them and are turned away. Maybe some of you think since I'm not a UK fan that I've got a secretive motive about this. Reality is it's a lot easier to see things for what they are when you aren't tied to it. I've shared the Fox updates for some time--even prior to UK offering, turning up the interest. So I have nothing at stake. Also following the sport-you realize that UK recruiting is rarely as public as Kobi Simmons has handled his--the quotes, constant non informative updates to keep his name out there...(how many times is he going to announce the same thing?)
I'd assume most would want the type of kid who wanted the offer, played his way into getting it, and dominated on the Spring/Summer circuit. The other ran his mouth about "being their guy"--which honestly think some of you guys take that as important--you know how many recruits hear same thing in stages of a recruitment. If you are truly "their guy"--they accept a commitment and don't covet other players as your position. So that was not true. If you wanted that designation--play better, don't have an attitude at games in front of the Staff, not best option to openly talk of your recruitment (that isn't how UK does recruiting nor has it ever been in a Calipari program) and get tougher skin--one of Simmons biggest drawbacks is he doesn't take kindly to criticism and is that a great fit for a Calipari coached player?
Anyway, good luck to you guys in landing whomever it is you want.
You're exactly correct. Some of these fools get happy feet and forget we have John Effin Calipari as our coach.
