Levis will "decide soon" if he'll play in bowl game.

He shouldn’t play it would be really unnecessary on his part and would not help or hurt his draft status, only increase his injury risk. If you want him to play you’re being selfish honestly. Rest, heal, grab a clipboard and a headset for the bowl game and go make your money Will.

Did he? I have been tied up. Painting the outside of the house.

Know what you mean there. Been getting a property ready myself. I think he did maybe Tuesday. Catspause and Ksr had a story. Jdrum had one here before that I think. Came out before we got the commitment from the long snapper maybe.

So I guess no bowl will want to commit to us until he decides. Is that how it works?

Call me selfish then. His draft stock isn’t going to change off one game- in fact he’s had some bad games but yet improved his stock. He could be first QB drafted if he plays well, under what I’m assuming will be a different play caller

He's lucky he survived the season behind a Yenser line. No reason to maybe lose millions to play in the Liberty Bowl. Nobody on here can pretend to be excited about the Liberty Bowl. This has been a truly disappointing season thanks to the O-coordinator and line coach.

I was called bad names for suggesting that Will Levis should shut it down given his injuries and lack of blocking. I think now everyone sees that after the South Carolina loss, plus his injuries, it makes sense for him to look toward his future and not get further injured just for the fans. He has given us plenty, but he has money to be made and should make sure that he has the opportunity to make it. Most people on here as fans don't really understand the life changing aspect of being a first round draft pick and being guaranteed 10s of millions of dollars that mean your kids don't have to work if it is handled correctly. If I were his advisor, he would have shut it down 3 games ago. Having said that, as a UK fan, I'm glad that he commanded his troops and played well the games I would have advised him against playing. Especially against UL.

Wow. Just went across the ESPN ticker.
Honestly and nothing against Levis and because a bowl game win doesn't really mean that much, I would prefer seeing the other QBs get a shot for the entire game to see how important the portal pickup is actually going into next year. I did like what I saw from Sheron in the one game he played this year ... I think it was SC. It was the intangibles that stuck out for me. I think the guy has moxie and I would prefer to see him under center rather than Levis for the bowl. Of course, I wish Levis all the best in the NFL but I guess I'm more focused on UK's future at QB.

Like it or not, the initiation of the College Football Playoffs sounded the death knell for the bowls. Once the system expands to 12 teams, the Bowls will become just a relevant, and just as exciting as the NIT.

In today's football landscape, it just doesn't make any practical sense for a player-especially an often injured player-to take yet another beating some meaningless bowl like the Liberty. It might make a difference in the final rankings or it might not, but it won't make enough of a difference to risk a professional career. If the non-playoff bowls survive, look for more and more of this kind of decision.

What if he hadn’t played against U6? The logic you’re using to set out the Liberty Bowl applies every bit as much to the U6 game. In fact, it applied to all our games once we lost to South Carolina.

If Levis sits it out - and I think he should - it would allow the backup QBs to have two full weeks of practice, plus gametime. Stoops will still go after a starting QB in the portal, but getting these guys more experience is a plus. As for Levis, I think he's earned the right to sit this one out. He's left parts of his body on fields throughout the SEC this year and given his all for the team, mentally and physically.

Levis playing or not playing on bowl game?........

It's like when Mrs. Rockford says "I'll decide later"

It's not gonna happen.

I hear this argued, daily on this forum.

If all non-championship bowls are meaningless, then all bowls were meaningless when the polls picked the Championship before the bowl games were played.

Given that our greatest football win came in that very scenario, I can’t agree that the 1951 upset of Oklahoma was meaningless.

Same for last year’s Citrus: our only game ever against Iowa . . . and a win.

Or the Charlotte Bowl in ‘19 . . . that extended our 2-1 winning ratio against Virginia Tech.

Or the Citrus in 2019, which pulled our record to even all-time against Penn State (3-3).

Bowls were established for matchups of teams from different sections of a huge country that typically did not play in the regular season, for the sake of the event itself, with no regard to championship implications.

If we draw an Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, UCLA, I’ll find sufficient relevance in the age old question asked over 100 years ago for the first Rose Bowl: can my team beat theirs?

It's not being selfish. It's your team, and it's a team game. He's on scholarship and these are the guys that have had his back in some cases for 2 years. It's his decision, but I would expect some loyalty will factor into that decision.

If it's about "business" then he should play. He's gotten paid endorsement for NIL as an athlete at UK. The people that paid that also deserve consideration. The idea that it's about his future alone is selfish and ignorant, but par for the course in today's world.

It won't surprise me if pro players soon decide to stop playing the last 2 games of a season when their teams are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs "because they might get injured and hurt future earnings." Soft and sketchy is the norm today. Makes you really appreciate athletes like BSnell and JAllen, JPaschal, and others who never seriously considered abandoning their teammates in their respective, last bowl games.

Pro players have contracts. They will play.

How long, if not already, will NIL deals will have Bowl Clauses...... for better or worse?

Backups will get most of the snaps in practice for 2 weeks regardless of his decision, but it is a decision, not a right that is earned. Everyone has the right not to play in a football game. Whether it's right to sit out the game is a different discussion.

Tomorrow is promised to no one. It's possible he never gets a chance to play in the pros for many different reasons. Life happens. You live it. You never waste an opportunity to put the pads on and play with your teammates if you're a player.

He needs to play in the bowl game, you can get hurt crossing the street. Any of our other players could get hurt to but I assume they are all playing. If you love the sport and you have come this far with your team, you need to go out with the rest of the seniors. Going to a bowl was one of the goals for the season I'm sure, maybe not the one they wanted but it's still an exciting time for those involved.
