It wasn’t irrational nonsensical fire and brim stone rhetoric but serious and reasoned arguments as why change was needed at the time. The arguments were all valid and backed up with facts and stats.. It was a good debate then and it looks like it should Be a good debate for our current situation now

Buddy I hear ya. The original LOD started up some 17 years ago Give or take. I was young and childless at the time. Now I have teenagers but I find my UK fandom in the same place we were with Tubby.

Everyone knew it was time for Tubby to leave.
Even Tubby and Donna knew it was time.
Big difference between Cal and Tubby.
Tubby Smith was the nicest gentleman to ever coach at UK.
Tubby Smith was well respected in the national media and the local community.
TS had no and gave no BS.
TS was honest and trustworthy.
TS was an excellent in game coach.
TS embraced and respected UK fans.
TS always put the program first.
TS gave his best to be the Guardian of UK basketball while he was in charge.
TS just couldn't or wouldn't recruit the top talent that could get him back to the FF.
That last sentence now applies to Cal. The others......not so much.

Same here. I turned heel about 1/2 way through the last one. I’m too old and like to fish too much to get overly involved in sports now. Part of that I blame on Cal’s philosophy with the program.
Chances are you live closer to him that I do. We both know factual that you have no integrity.

I'm in on the Cal should leave bandwagon, but you cannot count on me with the Pitino stuff. I can't have your back on that one and I'll check on UK basketball completely if he's back for another stint as our coach.
Been on board for years now. Glad everyone else is finally opening their eyes.
While I find him preferable to Cal, I'm not really in on Pitino coming back either.
Surely there are younger, more promising coaches out there. Like a guy who just She's All That'd Arizona from a art nerd into a prom queen 1 seed in his first year.

It will start with some typical “I wanted to take some time away from the board because I know how much of a nightmare it would be on here after the loss but here are some points I want to make about Cal and the team”. The obvious implied notion that they are above the knee-jerk reactions of the typical fan and are smarter than everyone because they took time to “cool off”. Well to that I say shove it up your ass, buddy.
Their post will then be followed by long bullet points of pro’s and con’s from the season, likely lots of stats (kind of like a scouting report) and then their opinion about how “I’m not ready to give up on Cal, but he must make changes”.
Just save it, guy/guys. No one wants your holier than thou religious take on this, and you’re not better than anyone because you took time away from the board to let everyone get their venting out. Kiss off.

Oh they are already popping up .. Like little moles on Whack a Mole ... save level of intelligence as well. And I hope guys like me , son of Saul , UKWildcats1st and several others are diligent in knocking their damn heads off .
There shouldn't be anyone .. , no , not one , that doesnt demand the firing. of John Calamari . If they are still content over what's happened to our program the past 6 years then they are either 1) Cal only people 2) Trolls from other schools 3) just plain miserable people who would argue today isn't Saturday . They just want to argue on the internet
I wouldn’t say I am a doomer, I’m a realist. I look at the facts and the facts say Calipari is killing this program. The worst season since Rupp was hired, the worst tournament loss ever, no final four in 7 years, no title in 10. Now we’ll lose the all time win lead AND the NCAA tournament win lead BOTH IN ONE DAY
And with every post from the apologist saying none of it matters my BP rises a few more points .
Yeah call him in to the AD office and read him the riot act . Flat out firing him prob wont happen .. but making him feel so despised might make him take a buy out
They’re casuals. Fine, but don’t talk down to me as if I don’t know college basketball isn’t some world changing event.
He might be, but he's still a POS that I have no respect for and don't want anywhere near the program. Just the way it is.
He’s too old to come back to UK now anyway. Not sure why I’m getting a barrage of replies to this. I wasn’t even advocating for him to be considered as a replacement to Cal. It’s just that, IMHO, he’s the best coach of my lifetime at the college level.
Who else is ready to see the door again? It was magical & hopefully will be again the second time around LOL.
Coulda shoulda woulda. You could make the same arguments about 2014 and 2015 with the injuries to WCS and Poythress. If we win in 2014 we probably don’t have 2015. However if 2014 stays the same and we have Poythress in 2015 we more than likely win. So we can make excuses for a Pitino coached team, but want Cal out today?
This team this year playing like they did in December would have thrashed any team Tubby ever assembled on his own.
This team playing like they did last 2 games would have lost to any tubby team as well.
This is it right here if the right people get on board then Mitch will be forced to make a change. If the right people don’t get on board Mitch don’t have the balls to make the call on his own!
You must not have been around in 1998. Tubby and KY beat a #1 Duke team in the NCAA in route to a NC.
How did this year's team do against Duke?
