"Leaving the Court Early; Safety or Bad Sportsmanship?"

I said it earlier in this thread but I'll say it again. I think he was mad and lost his cool and just sent some of the guys off. He hates to lose to Pearl and I think he had a moment.
I don't mind if either is the case, to be honest. I'm a bit of a sore loser myself, I guess, but I hate seeing a court storming like the ones we've seen. I know it's actually a show of respect from opposing fans to think beating your team is court-storming worthy, but it still ticks me off. If I were Calipari, I'd pull the team off anytime he thinks a court storming is imminent.

Whether you categorize it as sportsman like or not I think it's a good move. Sooner or later some player is going to get injured. That's why the NCAA hands out some pretty good fines for court storming, but they deter no one. It's become a trendy thing to do on college campuses, and us being Kentucky we see it an unusual number of times. Cal has never won at Arkansas, the Cat's have already lost 2 SEC games, and aren't even in the top 10 yet I wouldn't be shocked if Arkansas fans do some version of it tonight if they win. It doesn't take much these days.

If that moment can prevent our players from getting injured from fans then i hope Cal has that moment at any chance he has. I doubt he hates Pearl that much. Cal treats losing games just fine

Then why did Cal stay to shake his hand?

He hates Pitino more, why didn't he do that the sole time he lost?

Hates Calhoun, Didn't send the team off the floor in Maui International tournament or Final Four??

I say you take the football team with you and circle the players with them. Any contact results in some damaging contact back at them. :boxing::boxing::boxing::chairshot:
Good idea, as long as it's any other school's football team. Not sure I'd feel totally safe with the way Drew Barker was knocked cold at the EKU dorms with his teammates present. Mercy.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He didn't do it like Williams did but I don't think the players left the court early bc of safety. That my overall point.

Think he just lost his cool. Cal hates to lose to Pearl. It happens and I'm totally fine with it. That happens in sports.

Did you read anything that I wrote? I said I didn't care that Cal did it, just don't buy he did it for safety.

So many great posts from you through the years but these make absolutely zero sense.

Cal didnt look like he lost his cool whatsoever, he's experienced many losses over the years.

I understand this is simply your opinion but it is absolutely baseless.

Cal did the right thing. I also think back to DeMarcus, how stupid would a fan have to be to puss him off? Didn't Pete Thameltoe go to his home to try to dig some dirt and Boogie wasn't too welcoming? Haha. I admit, it would take some big balls to go to his door. Piss off a 6'11 270-280lb dude with a nasty temper.
