Better be.Sounds like the Oline is much better. According to Weaver last year they weren’t a challenge for the Dline but this year is different.
We will have a chance to find out about it when we play FL. We outplayed them in their own stadium in 2022. I think we are a better football team than that now, but not sure they are.Anybody see the USA Today article ranking the SEC QB's? Leary was ranked the best in our division and third overall in the SEC. Basically said putting a QB like that with an OC like Coen will be nothing but trouble. Saw where Mertz won the FL QB job and Napier was bragging about Mertz experience and leadership. The article ranked Mertz last and said he will have to have a lot more than those two things.
Never thought I'd see a day where we have beaten the gators 2 in a row and 3 out of 5 and go into this year's game feeling like the favorite. We will have a chance to find out about it when we play FL. Crazy innit?Never thought I'd see a day where we have beaten the gators 2 in a row and 3 out of 5 and go into this year's game feeling like the favorite.
I did. I trust our coaches and our current athletics department.Never thought I'd see a day where we have beaten the gators 2 in a row and 3 out of 5 and go into this year's game feeling like the favorite.
Gotta beat Florida. We will have a chance to find out about it when we play FL. We outplayed them in their own stadium in 2022. I think we are a better football team than that now, but not sure they are.
We have the better team and the better coaching staff. I attended our win in the Swamp a year ago. If you saw that game (and I'm sure you did), then you know Napier's squad has a huge challenge against us in Lexington this season that will be very difficult for the Gators to meet. I fully expect to win the game by more than one score, and I don't feel I am taking it for granted. Our coaches and players won't take it for granted either. They understand the deal here.Gotta beat Florida.
Crazy thing is that the games we dropped to them we arguably should have won. It took a broken wrist from sawyer smith and a bogus targeting call on a DLinemen tackling a running QB in the tacklebox to extend their must score drive for them to beat us that year.I did. I trust our coaches and our current athletics department.
Also I have watched all of Stoops' games against FL and actually attended most of them. I could see the results on the field, so I knew we had caught up to them and passed them in terms of performance on the field. Of course, I am not fooled by online class rankings for reasons I have discussed here many times. I just watch the line of scrimmage and the battle at the point of attack, because that is the only real competition.
I was at the Swamp in 2018 when UK beat FL on their own field. That game made a 1st team All American out of Bunchy Stallings. Our lines mopped the field with FL's lines, and Benny Snell and Lynn Bowden were men among boys that day. I was also there last year when Levis beat Napier and AR15. You see these games, you know which program is more aggressive, more athletic, better coached, and more confident. It's apparent to the human eye.
Yes. But that horse is out of the barn, and we can't fix it now. What we CAN do is beat them again this fall. And I feel good about this game. But, one game at a time. Our coaches don't look ahead. We shouldn't either.Crazy thing is that the games we dropped to them we arguably should have won. It took a broken wrist from sawyer smith and a bogus targeting call on a DLinemen tackling a running QB in the tacklebox to extend their must score drive for them to beat us that year.
