8 of them have been asked to look elsewhere. So if you re-ranked the class it would have been about 30th....rankings are deceiving....at least I hope.

Not directed at you TNCat, but this board is so defensive. We didn't have a good class this go-around, but we're done & can move on to 2016. Although, I did just notice on ESPN that Missouri was at 18 & UL at 28, with UK nowhere in the top 40. Oh, well......

And UK is currently ranked 36 in rivals. You may not think they didn't have a good class, but really you zero about recruiting.

I am not sure who they lost, but they had like 28-30 guys sign in that class. Rivals only ranks the top 20, so if they lost 8 guys then they still have the 20 best. If they only lost the 8 worst of the class they'd still be ranked in the top 5. If they lost a spattering then they probably still wouldn't fall that far.

It is a solid class. It lacks the big names that we all hoped we get, but overall quality is pretty solid. However, it is the lowest ranked class of the Stoops era in both Rivals star ratings and in team rankings. On ESPN there are 11 SEC teams in the top 40. Actually, they are in the top 21. Florida, UK and Vandy aren't even in the top 40. That is a pretty big gap in talent to have to face on the field. The recruiting gurus don't think this is an amazing class, so I don't see how Spica can know "nothing" about recruiting when he is following the simple data put forth by the gurus.

Thanks CBK3, the thing is I love Coach Stoops & the Cats, but the last six games of the season & losing one of the nation's top running backs (& only about 20 miles from the campus) just turned our recruiting sour this year. It's better than a Joker class, I'll give you that, but we've just got to do better next year, both on the field & with our recruiting class. We need a top 15 class next year in the worst way.

I think if you look at the star average, UK stacks up well. It isn't the greatest class but it was a nice recovery by the staff considering the last week. To say it was not a good class really showing a lack of knowledge of the recruits. Losing the brothers was the biggest hit- other than those two, it turned out to be very solid. I never thought ,Harris was coming here.

Unfortunately UT is killing it in recruiting, have the last 2 years. Yes they have lost 8 for the 14 class, but they aren't wasting any time trying to get back on top. Even Bama usually gives a kid 2 years before he is told to look elsewhere, but UT has the express button mashed, deliver the first couple months or move on. If their OL and DL improves they will be a force to deal with this year, as much as that pains me to say.

Yes. Sadly this is not an indictment of that class not panning out. It's an indication of how great theyre recruiting.

Hate it but it's true.

247 sports has us at 36 and i'm not sure if that factors in the jucos.

2013 Ohio State had the #2 class. And, 7 of their 22 starters on the national championship team were from that class including Bosa and Elliot and JT Barrett who got hurt. Urban rarely miss evaluates the can't miss kids. Here is hoping Butch Jones is not the same way.
