We were preseason #2 just like this year(I say number 2 because UNC had more 1st place votes). We had 3 returning roation upperclassmen players just like this year. We had rumors about our best player not being eligible(Davis) just like this year(Skal). We had also lost in the final four game the year before. Let's hope history repeats itself.

I don't see UNC as the best team in the nation. They return so many guys only cause these kids didn't have anywhere else to go. It's not like they were lotto picks returning to college. They don't shoot well enough to compete for a title, nor am I sold on their defense. When Skal gets cleared and Murray gets used to playing with our guys, I wouldn't trade our team and odds of winning it all with any school in the nation. Ulis and Murray is the best backcourt in the nation. Ulis is automatic from 3 and Murray is the type of kid that wants to take and make the final shot in a big game. If Poythress can get back to 100% healthy, our frontcourt will be up there with the best. I don't expect 38-1 this year, but I'm thinking national championship and in the end, that's what matters most.
