Hopefully... As it is now, Harper used for one batter in the 4th, removed and replaced with Bosma who has loaded the bases with one out, and now we bring in Guilfoil. Why not use him after Harper before South Carolina is fired up? We just ran ourselves into an inning ending play at the plate (again) in the top of the 5th. Typical Mingione base running and pitching strategery.

Funny about that inning ending play at the plate……..Mingione was coaching third today. Did he get tired/frustrated of all the bad base running gaffes that had been coming from the third base coach? But then he goes out there and does the exact same thing.

Ammo probably threw out his shoulder waiving everyone home. Put him on the IR. 😉

It almost seems likely that we will qualify for that last spot in the SEC tournament. MSU has to play Tennessee

Yep.

To finish higher than us Missouri would have to win 2+ games against Georgia and we would have to get swept.

Miss State would need to win 2 games and we'd have to only win 1.

I don't think that either of those scenarios are real likely.

UK can, I believe, finish no better than 11th. Interestingly, the Alabama/Auburn game 3 got canceled this weekend, so Alabama has the same amount of wins as UK, but 1 less loss so they have a higher win percentage meaning they are currently 11th and UK is 12th. The bad thing about this for UK is that UK actually holds the tiebreaker over Alabama (wins v. UT). However, unless one of UK's games this weekend is canceled, they cannot finish with the same record. So, UK will need to have more wins than them to be ranked 11th.

To finish higher than that would require Florida to sweep USC and and for UK to sweep Auburn. That would give UK 13 wins to USC's 12. That is the only other team that UK can catch.

So, it is highly likely that we're looking at the 11/12 spot.

At this point I would rather sacrifice this year to have a chance of putting together a winning SEC team beginning next year with a successful new coach.
Really though, honestly I would prefer to be the #12 seed than the #11 seed anyway. Not much difference in playing the #5 or #6 seed, but the #11 seed plays at 9:30am Tuesday and if we win we play at 9:30am again Wednesday, whereas if we are the #12 seed, we play after the 4:30 pm game both days.
