1:41 pm UPDATE: Now hearing that Tru Edwards may be visiting Kentucky tomorrow.
****
Hearing that Kentucky is probably in a very good position if he gets the waiver he MAY need. After another conversation I am not sure if he needs a waiver or not.
The NCAA is granting an additional year for former JUCO players.
Tru Edwards played at Navarro College for two years ('19-20). He played eight games for Hawaii in 2021. He redshirted in 2022. Then he played a full season for La Tech in both 2023 and 2024.
So because he has not been at the FBS level for more than four years and he has only had three non-redshirted years of football at the FBS level, the thinking is he should be okay with the waiver. But you still have to go through the process.
Heard this morning that Kentucky would currently be the front runner with Michigan and Ole Miss trying to make up ground but looking good for the Cats. No timetable on when something might happen.
