It’s over, they are too physical and we are finesse and the refs are letting them play and that’s right up their alley. This style of play will beat us most of the time because we can’t counter their physicality. I can see why they are a threat to win it all.
A team that can shoot with refs that call some fouls on them might end them. They get away with a lot of contact.
We only have one player to penetrate on the dribble, and even Amore can’t shake them. UK csn hang with most of the teams outside the top 10 but aren’t strong enough to handle Texas, So. Car., and a few others.
Now #44 killing us inside. She looks like a giant among elves. Texas inside behemoth’s having their way.
Our girls just have to foul or they get pushed under the basket every play
She was asked to guard a mountain who outweighed her by 80 lbs.
Big, physical teams continue to give our ladies problems. If we don't shoot lights out, we have NO chance against these upper echelon athletic teams. We give up WAY too many rebounds and make too many unforced turnovers. Amoore is a great player, but tries to do too much in big games.
Having said all of that, this team has had a GREAT season so far and can make some noise in the NCAA Tournament if we can avoid these types of teams.

And we have 24 total. Which has given them 19 more shot attempts than we have had.
They have 16 assists and we have 7, then add to this we have 17 turnovers and they have 9.
Can't beat great teams with those HUGE discrepancies.
We got a very good team. Just not quite there with the South Carolina/Texas type teams of the world. The difference is huge too.

Our Ladies have had a REALLY good year considering Coach Brooks had to build it from scratch. Love our style of play, just need to get some BIGGER kids in here to bang with those type of teams. I am EXTREMELY confident we will!!!
Yep…women’s basketball is so different from the men in that the top teams usually win out. Since 2016, no team below a 3 seed has made the Final Four. There is just a big drop off
Same problem as the men but even more so. Just not athletic enough. Don’t know about the athleticism of the two gals who were out all year with injuries but they were projected starters
The very best women’s teams are far better than the rest, unlike the men. When you watch a Top 5 women’s team, it is OBVIOUS how good they are. Not that way with the men. The women’s game does not have widespread parity, like the men’s.

Top 5 teams beat other ranked teams by 45 in women’s. Zero parity. Easiest sport to create a dynasty in.

The call I said was BS was BS. Texas player kicked ball out of bounds in front of official. No UK player was near. They overturned it
The team would have been better had Jordan Obi been able to play. She can shoot, score, rebound and block shots. For some reason Hassett is not the same player she was early in the season. She can't score or rebound like she did and has been playing ultra soft for some time for whatever reason. Obi would have solidified that position a lot. Also, why can TX players play in your face defense non stop the whole game at all positions but we can't? I know they have more depth than us but our defense allows too many drives and too many entry passes to the post. If our 6-7 player is too weak to body up why isn't she fronting? Just an example of how we could have a better defense if our positioning was better. Strack is a top defender but has been getting in foul trouble with some picky calls on her.
There's bad calls in every game against both teams. You can always cherry pick calls. Tn fans are taking a couple of calls from our game as proof they got hosed at Rupp.
There's obvious exceptions. I'm not a referee blamer but I think the rooferee cheated us. The tech on Humphries was terrible and lost the game. Was it a cheat or just awful?
The shot clock violation not called against Wisc. Those are awful calls.
The only cheat I believe I've ever witnessed was the rooferee.
