I knew when I opened this thread that it would ultimately turn into an anti-Matt Jones/KSR political rant thread. It's simple people, if you don't like Matt Jones because he's not in lock step with your own personal political views, then don't listen to his show, don't patronize his sports bar and don't open the thread.
Personally, I listen to his show every day and will make it a point to come by KSBar anytime I'm in Lexington. I don't care about his political viewpoint. I only care that he is one of my main sources for UK news and information.

And, if you want to talk about Matt, his shows, his bar, his blog, his hair, his loud speaking voice, etc., that is okay too.
I like how Matt is multi dimensional (with sports and politics). Sure we may not agree politically—but it’s nice having a sports guy who can switch gears.

I'm a Democrat and could do without Jones' commentary, just as I can do without Dave Bakers [which I haven't heard recently, thank God].
I love UK Sports and want to hear about them, especially football. Matt Jones is admittedly weak on the subject, so I rarely listen to him.
Dont care for him or his politics but hope the restaurant does well. It employs people in KY and provides, hopefully, good service. Can’t have enough of that.
I don’t listen to Jones very often. I prefer no politics (or horse racing) with my sports talk. I don’t care to hear about Jones and his cadre. It’s not entertaining to me. Some love it, so I respect that he has created a niche.
I go to his website for specific content. For a long while they just stole others’ content, then they had a few inside tips and contacts, and now they seem to be actually “reporting” on things. It’s a good gig and I respect him and his crew for carving it out. I just don’t find most of it relevant.
I listen to Patrick Loney’s podcasts and quickly realize everyone cannot do what KSR does relatively well.
Somewhat off subject, I have really enjoyed TJ Walker and Nick Roush's radio show on Big X sports in the mornings. It is a 2 hour show that comes on 96.1 in southern Indiana but it can not only be streamed but also listened to through a phone line. It airs from 8/7 to 10/9 EST/CST and makes for a good lead in to KSR.
Not saying one show is better than the other but they talk more football than KSR and Nick is a much better source of which to discuss it IMO.

Yep, but very roundball oriented. So I listened some during the SEC and NCAA tourney's last winter/spring, but now . . . .
I listen to KSR almost every day on the internet. Living 400 miles away, it is one of my connections to UK. My politics are conservative, but I enjoy his show immensely. It is entertaining, and about the only thing I don't like is when he talks about wrestling. I am a die hard fan of UK sports. Period. Basketball, football, baseball, women's basketball, volleyball, T&F, softball, rifle. All of it.
My wife and I visit Lexington a few times a year, usually for a UK baseball game or two, maybe a football game in the fall, sometimes just to visit. We like to take in some of our local favorites, like Tolly Ho, and Crank & Boom ice cream. We'll probably add KSBar to that.

Is that also on 1450 am? If so really have to try and listen ...enjoy NR a lot and talk to him at most games pre and post games home and away.
I haven't seen any irrational hate for KSR. Fatt Jones and crew have earned all the hate that I have noticed around here.
