Kobi Simmons will announce his decision on September 19

I had thought the same myself about taking all 3 although Bridges wants to play mostly 3. If Cal can sell him on the "positionless players" thing and plan on running his 4 out, 1 in offense, then the only thing separating the 3 and 4 are who they guard on defense.

There is definitely more than 1 recruit Cal is directing the "positionless player" talk to. Monk, Simmons, Bridges, and who knows who else?

Some of you hesitate to sign up a 5 star player who's currently rated 8th in his class, who's father is a UK fan, and who may want to come to UK? Spoiled rotten are 2 words that come to mind. I think Cal definitely takes him if UK is his choice. If not I'm certain Ohio St would love to have him as most any program would.

I am not one who hesitates to take the kid, but I can see JayCats' point. If we lose all 3 guards this year and Simmons keeps Fox from coming,he is our only PG.

And although he is a very good basketball player, his distribution, floor vision, and getting other players involved has been questioned a couple of times.

From what we have seen with Cal, a very good point guard is extremely important.

Most of the guys we are after are multiple position guys, which is why I think Cal is selling them on playing positionless basketball. That and the fact that the NBA has for years been playing that way culminating with Golden State winning it all with a team that really took the whole positionless concept to new levels.

Cal wants the best players, regardless of position.

Of course, Cal loves size, too, so he is going to try to find the biggest and best players regardless of position.

I am for what ever Coach Cal want on our team, but anyway You or I don't get to make that choice.

That's true. But after not turning up the heat for Fultz, I don't know if Cal feels that way.

Yep. I suspect Cal going lukewarm on Fultz had a lot to do with the fact that Monk and Alkins are just better players at this point.

Sounds bad but I really hope he goes to OSU. He's not as good as his current ranking. He's a really good athlete who can't shoot worth a damn. There's no way you take him and risk scaring off Fox, Monk or Alkins or even Smith.

I guarantee Cal has told him to hold off on committing. This is Simmons trying trying to force Cal to let him commit. Simmons is a plan B or C and you just don't go to plan B/C before plan A.

You said the same stuff about Briscoe last year in regards to prohibiting UK's flexibility to land another elite combo guard. At the end of the day, UK landed Murray, the world's best amateur combo guard.

What say you of that?
