Kevin Love Opting out of Contract

What are the odds that LaMarcus Aldridge ends up in Cleveland?

That would be a match made in heaven IMO.

LA Laker bound perhaps...or maybe the Celtics.

Most likely LA at this point.

They will also be making a run at Jimmy Butler.

PG- who knows?
SG- Kobe
SF- Butler
PF- Julius Randle
C- Okafor

Not a bad starting 5, even with the PG spot uncertain.

He was always going to opt out of his contract. He makes more money this way. I think he stays in Cleveland. I don't want him on my Lakers.

Why?? He would be, by far, your best player.

Kobe will most likely get hurt 5 games into the season again.

Kevin Love is only 26, and would be a GREAT center piece going forward.

Love would be a good 3rd piece on a title team. I don't view him as someone who can lead LA to a championship. I also think that Randle can potentially be better than Love in a couple years. Clarkson, Randle, Okafor are three really good pieces to bring say Durant to LA in 2016.

He'll be on Morey's radar for sure. But he's kind of becoming soft. Not sure I want a frontcourt with him and Dwight. They could win 60+ games yet get swept in the playoffs.

Agreed. Love is no centerpiece of a title team, but he certainly wants to be paid as if he is.When he was a centerpiece he never got to the playoffs. What you saw this year is who Kevin Love is. A very good player who needs someone to play off of. I will also love for the Lakers to continue to build with young pieces, then add high level talent when kobes monstrous contract comes off the books.

@bluescat92 you can't have Okafor and DeAnglo Russell lol.

Although this is interesting I've been super flip floppy on who I would want in LA. I think Russell has the tools to be a star and his confident attitude just oozes LA.

Excellent trade by the Cavaliers, showing why they are always at the top of their game. Its as if every pro team in Ohio is run by clueless idiots.

Well the Lakers will be getting their draft pick way before Love can even sign a contract...

They aren't really the same player, but I do agree.. with options for Randle, Cousins, Love and Okafor, you only need 2 of them. If Lakers have a chance at Love and/or Cousins, while still having Randle, I have to imagine they go with Russell in the draft. Lakers should very easily be able to put together a top5 starting frontcourt, so this is the time to work on the backcourt and go with Russell.

Who did Love "play off" with in Minnesota? That roster he played with was booty and he still put up great #s

He is going to re-sign with Cleveland. There's really no drama here.

This. There's no news here. Everybody already knew he'd opt out, and Lebron probably will too. It's simply the right business move for those guys even if they want to stay in Cleveland.

Clarkson played well at the point last year as a rookie. I think they add rondo and try and make a run at it.

This is not even close to the same situation as Lebron opting out. Everyone knows he will go back to Cleveland...not so with Love. I'm sure if Love leaves Lebron will whine and bitch and get another HOF type player to take his place in the great triumvirate with Lebron and Irving. Lebron just can't win a title without two other HOF guys.
