I don’t think he faked an injury, but I think he probably could’ve played the last part of the season, I think he sat out in hopes of a medical year. Just my opinion!

My post refers to : Garrison, Perry, Noah and Chandler.
Garrison is a big question mark to me based on his iq. He was a 5 stars recruit that got all chances at two different schools and green lights from Pope but showed for almost nothing . Even when he would have a spurs of good stuff: grabbing a rebound or making a 3 , he would make a bone head move and get T. He could be a back up player but not sure about him.
The rest of : Perry , Noah, Chandler should be the 13-15 spots on roaster. If they accept that role and stay to develop in 2-3 years -great ! if not ….follow Kriisa.

You’re going to honestly sit there and say Chandler was the same player at the end of the year he was at the beginning? I might be talked into letting Noah walk but Chandler can freaking play and I’ll say it. If you think he can’t, you don’t know ball.
Same thing I was thinking . If he could have came back it was late in the season . He would have to get back in game shape and he may still be hesitant on that foot . I think it’s reasonable to believe he just wanted to a fully healthy season for his last college season and I can’t bash him if that’s the case .

Here is mine:
I am of opinion that to make the fist 12 -13 spots of Uk basketball team you need to deserve it and you contribute in a meaningfully way. And no, by meaningful, I don’t mean that you can have multiple games where you play 10 plus minutes and show up 0 across your game stats line. As a Kentucky fan, I am sure you know who falls in that category.
I also believe that with additional scholarships , the spots 13-15 should be allocated to the best Kentucky basketball players. That would be in the Rupp’s tradition to run scrimmages and fulfill the end tail of KY roaster with KY boys. That kept the interest and pride in HSs across the Commonwealth because boys could dream that one day that could play for the wildcats.
Jasper Johnson , Moreno and Acaden Lewis have same Kentucky connections as Perry and Noah but I see them in the top 12 players next year.
So yes, roles need to be defined and house cleaned, if we want as Kentucky fans for this program to progress.

You must have absolutely hated the era before the open transfer portal rules...if you were even born before then.
Listen, I get the nostalgia about when we had players for 4 years that you see them grow and get attached to them . I also, get the need to have Kentucky boys on our roaster, which Cal completely dismissed.
But times have changed… and not for good necessarily. We need to adapt to be successful….

So does Pope will need to make business decisions and clean the house based on merit and not emotional attachment.
People were comparing Perry to Reed just cause they were rivals in HS. Not all the great HS players translate into great college players, especially in very physical SEC.
Just like not every great college players translate into great NBA player.
Should I give you some examples, so maybe you guess my age since you brought it up? Do you prefer from players that we as Kentucky fans especially “love”?
How about Pete Pistol best HS ever? Or Christian Laettner who even made the dream as the only College players ahead of Shaq…. Neither of them did pan out in NBA.
So let’s leave emotions aside and hope that Pope makes the best decisions.

Both Pete Maravich and Christian Laettner had decade long NBA careers and made all star teams.. What are you talking about not panning out in the NBA?
That’d be a good way to keep any serious basketball player from ever playing at UK.
Which in return keeps us from building a F4 team. If your team runs after every season how does a team build chemistry and a play style. Just seems like a war we might not win.
Laettner made the dream team . The only college player. Ahead of Shaq. Cause of who he was in 92 in college… Please tell me what he did in NBA? Pope also played in NBA . He was our captain on champion team, what did he do in NBA?
Pete Pistol career could have been different but he was always on the wrong team and he finally made it on the right team he was done because of injuries.
Maravich was a five time NBA All Star and won the League scoring title. Laettner had a 13 year NBA career that also included an All Star season or two. I‘m pretty sure that qualifies as panning out.
He is from DC, but he always loved the wildcats. I have seen couple times wearing UK gear.
Should I say , what other said about me , that if you consider Laettner as a great NBA, maybe you are a Duke fan? Lol
I have seen Laettner play …. What he could do in college he could not do in NBA. He would rebound and pass and some score but was almost based on his college reputation. When Jordan come to the wizards they brought all Jordan’s friends and rivals from Oakley to Laettner….. let me tell you he had a e eye for this guy just like he had for Kwame Brown as number one pick , or trading Rip Hamilton for Jerry Stackhousse.
I answered why Pete Pistol didn’t have the same success in Nba as college. He should have.
C. Laettner in my book is at the same level in nba as Plumlee. Nothing special but collected checks because where they played in college, traded from one team to another based on connections.
Agree with most of what you said, but Chandler VASTLY improved over the last month. We could really use him next year.
I would prefer a Richie Sounders, Same profile just better and also knows Pope system.
Meaning most likely where he goes, sorry for the confusion lol.
Good luck to him. Rather retain the guards we have with the incoming recruits and focus on finding one better on the level of Butler to come in.
