2 years ago....we were riding high going into Oxford. We were ranked #7....we were coming off a 10 win season. We had Will Levis back....C-Rod was coming back from suspension....and the schedule was looking very favorable going forward. The game was tight....our OL was in a bad spot because Wolford left and took Tyler Steen with him. Barion slipped and had got caught a few times that cost us....
And then BOOM. Touchdown KENTUCKY! We win.....but wait....a sh**** penalty and it's called back. We lose. Will Levis gets hurt.....and then it just keeps going downhill. We lose to SC and that starts a 3 game streak to them....we even lost to FREAKING VANDY. 2023 just feels the same....and starting this year it was down....
So we go back to Oxford in 2024. The fan base hasn't been the same since that loss in 2022. The first drive feels like....here we go again....Maxwell Hairston is out. Barion is being shut down and making mistakes. IT looks like another long day....they convert a big 4th down. It's finally 4th and 7 and Stoops goes for it....
Barion makes the big play. We get the right bounce on a FUMBLE. WE get the luck of a missed FG. WE BEAT A TOP 10 TEAM ON THE ROAD!!!
The vibes were down since that cursed day in 2022....and now they're back. This journey has been long since that day....everything crashed that day it felt like....but now it feels like it's back! Let's go win some more!
