MARK STOOPS UK NETWORK Q&A:

* There were parts of it that were really good. Starting on the road in an 11 AM local kickoff, getting out to a fast start was important, so happy with that. We're off and feeling good. Complete control. Defense got a little out of kilter at the end of the first half. Kinda frustrating. And the offense was out of sync. A lot of things to clean up, but you win on the road by 17 points in the SEC, that's good as long as you know there's a lot of stuff you have to improve.

* Did a really nice job limiting the damage of Vandy WR Sheppard. He's really, really good. He was held to 2 catches for 31 yards. Defense took it personal that they were so bad last year in the loss to Vandy.

* Brown and Key really stepped up today with more attention to detail. Great young men. Hard workers. They want to compete and win. Happy with how they played today. They have taken the mistakes to heart, talent the coaching.

* Still didn't like the negative rushing plays. Hit some big ones, but gotta get that running game fixed.

MARK STOOPS POSTGAME PRESSER:

* Good win, on the road, early kickoff, fast start.

* Some concerning things to look at and address.

* Gave up some junk points and yards late, but still won decisively.

* Some of the same things keep catching up with them on offense, especially the non-efficient runs.

* Jackson's INT was at a big moment. 11-point game at the time. The stop was really important at that point in time.

* Want to continue to be on the plus side of turnover margin as they get into conference play. Huge for the D to come up with 3. Wants the offense to cut down on their 2.

* First two corners are really playing with a ton of confidence right now. Happy with both Hairston and Phillips' play.

* Good awareness on D-Jack's part to see there was nobody around him and to pitch it to Dru for the extra yards on the INT return to set up a score.

* "We're 4-0 and I've been pissed off at every press conference," joked Stoops when asked about another negative item. He's trying his hardest to enjoy a 17-point road SEC win. Want to focus on the good things they're doing. They know on Monday they have a lot of stuff to fix.

* "If our mentality stays the way it is, good things are ahead of us."

* It was good to see Barion hit a big one. They were at a point of frustration as a unit at that point. Really needed it.

* Running game popped a few good ones but is still way too inefficient. Too many negative plays. "Inconsistent at best."

* Regarding Eli Cox at center... We'll see how it goes. Good to have that flexibility. Hard to say until they see the film.
