South Carolina batted 0.212 for the game with an OBP of 0.212. We had 0 walks and 0 HBP's. Impressive show by the pitching staff. Schaenzer got hit pretty solidly but gave up no runs. I'd say it was one of his best outings of the year.
Was thinking the same thing the same thing last night watching the game.We won last year's opener something like 19-2 down in Columbia, only to have USC come back the next day and almost shut us out.
Just hope we don't get too big headed and realize it was only ONE game of three.

Our lefties and switch hitters would love to see Lomas again. They were feasting.I noticed that USC stayed with Lomas, keeping him in for 3 innings, even though he gave up 6 runs because they wanted to save the bullpen for Saturday and Sunday. If it had been a closer game, they would have yanked him out and gone deeper into the pen. Oh, well, I guess we won't see him anymore. I don't like to watch sidearm pitchers anyways.
