UK got up on Ball State early in this one. They manufactured a run with Barrett in the first, and then after two walks Fettes put one over the wall to give UK a 4-1 lead. Beggs is on the mound and it sounds like he has pretty good command today. Has at least two strikeouts early on.

Shelby puts UK up 6-0 on another long ball!!!

By the way, Heady is at short. White at first. Bernal at third. Carson is the DH today and Fettes is behind the plate.

UK still up 9-0, going to the botom of the 6th. Ka'ai Tom has a 3 for 4 day, and Fettes with 2 bombs and 4 rbi.

home runs are going to be up across the board this year, the new baseballs carry much better.
I would think the lower seems also allow for less movement from the pitcher aspect...I think they get a little more speed, but lose the much more valuable movement.

Beggs goes 5 and a third, Logue comes in strikes out 1st hitter he ever sees as a Cat, gives up an rbi single to next hitter, and then an rbi double. He then retires the man, and ends the inning. UK up 9-2 going to the top of the 7th.

Tyler Marshall and Riley Mahan debut as pinch hitters with no luck, Whie gets his 3rd hit of the day in the top of the 8th. Cats leave 2 on base, lead 10-2 going to bottom of the 8th, Robert Ziegler on to pitch for UK.
BTW the UK softball team beat Southern Illinois 5-2 down in Georgia, now are 5-1 on the season......congrats to them !

Disasterous inning for Ziegler gives up 5 runs, although Mahan boots an easy grounder that would have ended the inning with only 2 runs scored. Cats lead now 10-7 going to the top of the 9th.

UK adds another run in the top of the 9th, clutch 2 out rbi single by Javon Shelby. Cats up 11-7 bottom 9th Salow on to try and close it.

Cats win by a final of 11-7. Salow walks 2 in the 9th but gets a great defensive play by Evan White at 1st to save a run and Salow strikes out the final batter.
UK takes on Richmond tomorrow at noon, Sunday's game has already been cancelled due to inclimate weather moving in.
