Kentucky @ USC Game 3

Again we see Thompson in a game that doesn't really matter, well maybe we could get to Hoover if a miracle happens next week. What if we get rained out and Thompson doesn't get to pitch a full game? He doesn't get to move up UK's all time strikeout list. We have no momentum at all> We got none from Thompson's last game. He should have pitched yesterday.

The announcers talking about Dalton Reed being "cool" getting to that foul ball. Well, that is why he has so many errors and nonplays. He hasn't impressed me with his effort at any point this year.

I know this isn’t the case but a part of me can’t help but wonder if the staff is doing this just to pad his stats. They know hes not coming back next year. It was obvious in the first part of the season the pen couldn’t hold any lead he gave them. So why not throw him on Sunday against the weakest starter from the opposing team.

Outside of Kessler, ZT and Elliott, no one has really impressed this year. Yeah, Shinn has his moments and Collett can hit the ball a mile. But as a whole, not so much.

Two in scoring position and no outs. Bases loaded and one out. And we manage not to score again. That is our offense this season, all season long pretty much. Last year, we scored a ton of runs with two outs. This year, we are pretty much impotent. What happened?

I noticed that Collett running home on that bunt looked pretty stiff. I'd bet his shoulder is still pretty sore. That might explain his lack of production as of late.

Hmmm no wonder he looked stiff. That was Dalton Reed.

It doesn’t matter what day they start him. The other 2 days are almost guaranteed L’s.

Eh, I dunno. I am a believer in momentum and also i believe confidence is important. Getting a W on Friday night or saturday is important in the SEC. I don't think it's smart to save your ace until Sunday.

But when he was the Friday starter, he got a lot of no decisions because our hitters couldn’t hit their opponents’ aces. So, pitching him on Saturday or Sunday allowed him and UK to get a few more dubs this season.
