AP hates UK, yet every single preseason under Cal, UK has been a consensus Top 5 pick.

Come on, man. Losing at home to UNC-Wilmington did the Cats no favors.

That’s true. However, this season, that wasn’t the case. This team is much more talented than the last 3, that did get the benefit of the doubt. We were preseason ranked #16 this season, which I felt was too low.

But rankings this early in the year obviously don’t matter much. But I do find it kinda strange for supposed UK fans to argue this team isn’t top 10 worthy when clearly they are.

That's not a contradiction. The two are not mutually exclusive. I believe Kentucky is a top 10 team but the AP would not have them ranked that high if their name wasn't Kentucky. Their resume is more like a 13-18 resume right now. Most of the AP voters probably haven't even seen them play.

Lmao so if AP voters had done their job and watched UK play against Kansas, Miami and UNC they would know this UK team isn’t a top 10 team? Is that the crap you’re using to rationalize your moronic statement? And btw im willing to bet that most of the voters have watched UK play in those games since it’s part of the job for them.

The FAU thing is nuts.

Arizona is a good win. But they have worse losses than us. They deserve to move up. But 7 spots is wild.

Kansas>Illinois
UNC-W>Bryant.

I was confident Arizona wouldn't fall. I figured Uconn was more likely to move down at least a spot or 2. But I'm not surprised by them staying put either--media loves them. I guess they're getting a pass for their big man being hurt? Maybe we should have gotten a pass for DJ being hurt.

These are standings, not rankings.

The loss to UNCW hurts us in the standings.

But we are the same team had we beaten them.

UK is easily a top 4 team in the country.

I say we are the best team in the country.

None of the teams ahead of us in the standings would want to see us in their bracket.

We're OBVIOUSLY not the best team in the country. Could we be? Maybe. We need to be consistent and find our formula for winning games and settle into it.

Oh I agree. And the more UNCW loses, the more fuel it gives them to drop us lower. I don’t pay attention to polls until Feb 1st. But yea losing that game may very well cost us a seed or two.
