Kentucky @ Tennessee (Friday)

Degen back out. Still think it's wild that we turned to Degen in this spot. Our bullpen rotation makes no sense.

Degen starts the 8th with a K and follows it up with another one, this one looking. UT tries to bunt and they pop it up and Dancing Degen brings it in to end the 8th. Send him for the 9th too. He's beasting!

5-3

Hill flies out to left. Lewis goes down the line in right with his second double of the night. Welcome back Zeke!!

Schultz grounds to the pitcher and he throws it away. Lewis scores and Schultz goes to second.
6-2. New pitcher for Tennessee.

Degen out for the 9th after Kessler strikes out. Smart move with this lead.

Shelby into center. Hill into left.

Weird move after Schultz robs a homer. Lol

Lewis takes a grounder and makes an easy out 1. Grounder to Plastiak for out 2. Liner to Collett who cruises to step on the bag and Cats even the series with an 8-2 win.

Pitching most impressive in this as UT has only been held to 2 or less maybe 3 or 4 times this year.

I think it was a must win and they got it. I couldn’t watch it due to a family dinner but nice recovery. If you are going to put them on blast when they coach or play badly like I have, you gotta give them credit when they get the job done. And any win against the Vomiteers is nice.

Fully agree. Very good all around play tonight. Defense was very good. Hitting was mostly timely. Pitching was outstanding. Degen out of no where to hero status.

I think the staff is walking on thin ice with everyone. Not sure many of his players like or respect him.
You know I wonder about that. Like I said before, I’ve met him on several occasions and he seems like a really nice person. Yet, I’ve read several negative comments from former players. I have only positive things to say about Mingione the person but I’m not sold on Mingione the coach.

Great win. I think it's probably the best game we've played all year. The UL game in Louisville is also up there, but that was against a weekday UL staff that has been shakey. This was against a top 5 UT team on Saturday in the SEC.

Can't say enough about how important this win was in getting us to the desired 15 SEC wins. Winning the series today woudl go a long way toward an NCAA bid. If we win this series, I really like our chances to win at least one of the two remaining home series against USC and UF.
