Rain in the forecast this weekend, hope it doesn't cause problems getting the games in !I'll be there this weekend. First time I've covered a softball game since my freshman year. Looking forward to it!
Vandy doesn't field a softball team.
Yeah, you would figure that as successful as the Dores baseball team is, they would have softball also. What does Vanderbilt do wth their SEC money? Improve their football stadium or their gym? Nah! At least they could build a softball field.
Apparently they have women's lacrosse instead, belong to the Big East for that.Yeah, you would figure that as successful as the Dores baseball team is, they would have softball also.
I wondered about that, too. I was curious and went to the Vandy athletic site to see what women's sports they have and found they have bowling, lacrosse, swimming and track & field for women only (no equivalent men's teams). I think I recall that when they won the CWS a couple years ago, the only NCAA championship that Vandy had ever won previous to that was women's bowlingYeah, you would figure that as successful as the Dores baseball team is, they would have softball also.
All 13 teams made the tournament and 8 of them are top 16 teams.
Pretty good reason they didn't then.Vandy doesn't field a softball team.
