I feel like we should win, but I haven't even seen Florida play this year.
Agree here. No idea how they look, and we all know stats don't always tell the story.
Their schedule hasn't been fantastically hard, but they clearly can score points and grab rebounds. Then again, their schedule looks a bit weak. Here are a few notable games:
UVA: Lost 73-70. UF had 47 rebounds, shot 40% from the floor (only 28% from 3), but had 16 turnovers to UVAs 6. Granted, we know UVA is a defensive team, so this isn't a good example to use for gauging our performance tomorrow.
Baylor (ranked at the time): Lost 95-91. Whatever Baylor did to limit rebounds worked. But there was clearly very little defense played. Baylor shot 51.7% from the field with a whopping 56% from 3, while grabbing 33 boards and 14 TOs. UF shot a respectable 44.9%, but they clearly suck at the three shooting only 30.8%. 12 TOs and 38 boards. So a pretty equal game from both sides. This game might be a better indicator of what UK might look like against UF.
AT Wake Forest: Lost 82-71. Stats much like the Baylor game, but clearly the game was much slower given the lower scoring affair. UF shot 40% from the floor and again a paltry 33.3 from 3. 15 turnovers (they seem turnover prone), and were outrebounded 34-33.
Wins since that loss: Merrimack 77-57, Richmond 87-76, East Carolina 70-65 (close one and UF had 52 boards, but again shot crap from three at 25%), Michigan 106-101 (another run fest), Grambling 96-57 and Quinnipiac 97-72.
One thing I get from all of those games is this: UF sucks from the three. In the Michigan game they attempted 29 three pointers and only made 8. Maybe this is where they get all of their rebounds?
