Not surprisingly, with this news, Memphis fans on social media aren't being very nice to UK or Cal.
No shock on Wiseman, but that's unusually early for Cal to offer a top 40 guy like Jeffries. He must really like him.
Top 40? Jeffries is a 5 star and top 10 or 15 pretty much everywhere I've seen

Look at the RSCI or Top247 for recruits rather than just one site. He's like 16 composite among the sites, I think.
That was my initial reaction too. But ESPN has him #9, Scout has him #15, 247 has him at #16, and 247-composite has him at #13. I think Rivals might just be slow in updating their 2019 rankings.
Right now the all-knowing Crystal Ball has us getting:
Wiseman- #2
Hagans- #9
Jeffries- #13
Out of the 247 composite top 20.
They have us 50/50 for #5 Lewis and #16 Christian Brown (not heard much about him).
Grab those five and we should be pretty excited about the 2019-20 season.

Seems like these situations haven't been working out for us lately with the Top 3 type kids. My guess is someone (Kansas? Memphis?) hires Penny as an Assistant Coach within the next year and the next thing you know we're on the outside looking in with these kids.
Jeffries is a cousin of the Lawsons at KU. I know KU is recruiting him, but we're considered favorites for a legacy (Lester Earl's kid) who plays his position in Robinson-Earl who is ranked #16 on Rivals.
I have no clue if the Wiseman reclassifying talk is true but...

I don't think anyone on this board (even the ones with "sources" lol... has any real idea if this is true
In another thread, it was mentioned that he would only be 17 when he stepped on campus if he reclassified, so I think it would be very doubtful that it would happen.

I haven't heard anything with re-classification. It's also a little early for those kind of talks.
