Kentucky @ Missouri - Game 3

Florida is hit or miss right now. To some degree they are bouncing backby taking the series against Vandy but they also just lost 2 of 3 to Tennessee at home. Would be good for Florida to get the win over USC on the series. Give them less confidence going into our series. Still, they need to split regardless and help us keep some distance between us and them.

There are a lot of things not real clear still. We've played 3 series against the west and two against the east. The west is clearly better than the east overall, but are the teams we played and bested (Texas A&M and Ole Miss) just waiting to descend to the bottom of the west or are we one of the reasons they are lower in the west? Anyone that has rung up wins against Alabama haven't done much. But Texas A&M won a series at LSU and won a home series against Auburn so they may be pretty good and we took that series.

Salow comes back out and gets three outs to end the game and help UK take the series. Gives up just one hit to Bond in the three innings pitched. Good series but I really feel like we could and should have swept them.

Coulda..woulda..shouldawon the series at least. Hopeful for at least a 2-2..3-1 week. Would be huge.

Good series win. Agree that it feels like the Cats missed a chance for a sweep, but all in all, I have to pleased with winning 4 of first 5 SEC series. Schedule is toughening up in a big way starting Tuesday, but at least these next tough games are home. Here's hoping Thompson has a quality start and UK can top UofL for the first time in a while. Hopefully UK fans will come out and give some good crowds against UofL and LSU.

I think weather permitting they'll have biggest crowds of the season...

Agreed, though they have talent, tradition, and a good home field advantage. Never take for granted a series win against them down there.

They have also had some injuries, including their closer Johnson, who is now back. They have the freshman Cortes, who is a future star, and must be pitched to carefully.
They have their work cut out for them this weekend @ Florida for sure, they will be in a desperation frame of mind when we roll into Columbia.

In this league it doesn't really matter who you are playing. Tennessee was dead in the water, but then they took two of three from Florida on the road. So, any team can pretty much jump up and bite you at any time. I think the huge deal here for us is that we have 5 more SEC series left. Three of those are at home and two on the road. Two of the three home series are against teams that are a combined 8-22 in SEC play. That is favorable and we need as many wins from those 6 games as possible. Then we need to either win the series at home against LSU or win at least one road series.

If we win 13 of those remaining games and finish 38-18, win a couple more in the SEC tourney, and get to 40 or 41 wins, we will certainly host a regional, and could probably advance to our 1st Super Regional. That would be quite the season, and would generate a lot of buzz for the program.
