I don't think I will ever get over that loss until we win another National Championship, maybe have to beat Wisconsin along the way. Still sitting here after months and months and I watched one fan video of the game and I think it will take a lot longer to get over.

Kentucky deserved to lose that one with the way it went down, I'm over it.

Im right here, we deserved that loss. it hurt for a few days because I have about 10 UL fans working for me. But I'm over it.. ready for next year.

This may be the reason for me I live in Southern Indiana so I get it from both IU and UofL fans...you can say your over it but your really not, think 1997, 2010, and 2014 etc.

It's time to let it go, we can not change the past we just learn from it .

Here comes the poster who celebrates all of our title game losses. Haven't seen him in a while.

If the players themselves can get over it and move on with their lives, I feel sorry for the fan who cannot.

I thought we won?

The program is bigger than the players. The program includes the fans. These players will have multiple opportunities to win championships, also I do recall an article that just came out last week about Dakari still not over "the loss".

Ha! I just now realized the number significance. I didn't even really look at them and just thought they were random numbers until I read your posts and really looked at them for the 1st time. My question is.....who would use a screen name like that? What true UK fan would want to relive those years every time they log on here? It makes ZERO sense to me and if that's not a billboard sign forba troll, then I don't know what is. It just boggles my mind.

The players themselves don't care as much about it as the die hard fans. Most all of them knew they had millions waiting on them in a few months so it's easy to get over. Plus they don't have the fandom for UK that fans do.

I never had a loss in any sport as a player that hurt me like the big UK losses, like the UW game.

2 questions:

1. Did it hurt simply because you work with UL fans?
2. Why in the world would you choose a screen name like that? To each his own but I just have to know the reasoning behind it. I just can figure out any good logical reason behind it.

HaHa, yea move on to millions.. I'll never understand the disappearance of Will thrill in the biggest game of his life.

He chose that name because he's a known troll.

It happens. You move on. That's life. As a fan I have lived through...

* Laettner, on the eve of my birthday
* Two losses to UConn in the Final Four, costing us two titles
* The Dream Game. You think losing to Wisconsin is tough? Try losing to the Tards in the first meeting in 24 years.
* Georgetown. The most miserable half ever. Ever.
* West Virginia. Closest thing to Georgetown.
* Being the first Major League team to blow a 2-0 lead in an LCS (1982 Angels)
* Being one strike away from the World Series and blowing it, then losing two more games (1986 Angels)
* Losing to the cheating Patriots (2001 Rams)

They all hurt. But if you pull for a team that wins a lot, you put yourself in position to be hurt, that's the price you pay. Every team that wins big also loses big. The Steelers, Packers, Niners, Patriots and Cowboys have won the most Super Bowls. They also have the most heartbreaking playoff losses.

We're the all-time winningest program. Look at all the heartbreak we've suffered. And yet, it's nothing compared to what Kansas, UNC, Duke and Louisville have suffered. Duke has lost five title games under Coach K. They went to four Final Fours in five years (1986-1990) without winning a title. They lost to Mercer and that other scrub team in the first round.

UConn hasn't suffered much, but it's feast or famine with them. Nonexistent until Calhoun. Left out in the cold by conference realignment. UCLA had the best run of all time. Since 75 they have one title in 40 years. Indiana has three in that span.

Take solace in knowing that if other fans know your every defeat, it must mean you're on top. Louisville was the top seed in the tournament in 2009. Do you remember who they lost to? Probably not.

Whats reality is we were 38-0 and 2 wins from the first perfect season in 39 yrs in college basketball.

We had a 4 point lead with 4 mins and 2 or 3 ops to push the lead to 6 or 7 but instead we screwed the pooch and choked away the game.

Thats reality ......."dude"....

Oh and learn some in English, its loss not lose. ."dude"...

Willie and even Cal have also made mention of having trouble getting over that loss. I can imagine a fan on a Kentucky forum expressing his disappointment over any loss. What is hard to understand is the critiquing he is receiving over saying it.

There's a difference between getting over a loss and moving on with your life. Everyone moves on with their life out of necessity.

And FWIW, every player I've heard to date who has been asked about the game has said they still haven't gotten over the Wisconsin loss. Not sure what your basis is for suggesting the opposite is true.

Overall, I look at the year as a positive. WCS, Poythress and the twins returning was an unexpected blessing. The 2014-2015 season was originally supposed to be a Sweet Sixteen -type season before the guys started announcing they were coming back. For all practical purposes, the season was an anomaly and should be viewed as such. 38-1 with a Final Four banner is a presumed rebuild year (before the returners began to make their intentions known) is not bad at all.

Was I disappointed? Yes; I still am. But I feel last year's lacked just enough to give me doubt throughout the season (Aaron's inconsistencies on offense; lack of a three man who could defend; WCS lack of scoring ability) and some of those concerns bit UK when it mattered most.

Over it? Well, I'm not driving around in a stupor, so dazed that I almost roll through a red light into the crossing traffic, or anything like that.

But... whenever I think about it, I can't help but frown a little and slowly shake my head.

I remind myself that it is a 17th FF Banner for UK, which certainly represents success, but with the close calls we've had since Cal arrived... I have to think that if a couple balls had just bounced our way, Cal would've had (at least) a 2nd title with us. Hopefully, we'll Get Lucky In Kentucky in 2016.

It still makes me sad. Watching the draft workouts and so many high picks makes it even worse . Wisconsin? That missed shot call bugs still angers me. How do 3 officials miss that?

And if they do miss it, why wouldn't there be a review process for that during the WHOLE GAME. Should have that option for the NCAA Tournament... definitely for Final Four games, at the very least.

If you want to parse words and feel miserable all summer, by all means go right ahead. Bottom line is no matter how much we love watching the games, in the end it's a game between a bunch of people most of us will never know personally. I wish we had won the Dream Game. I wish we had beaten Georgetown. But to never get over these things is pretty silly when you consider the successes we have had, all at the expense of other teams and fan bases.

Yep. Or different seedings. But no one can take away our amazing success under Cal.

I'm just looking ahead to next season.Of course the loss was a downer but it was still a special season.Winning 38 games in a row and having these talented player sacrifice playing time for the good of the team was special.I wish these young men the best in the NBA.

1966 and 1992 are in the top 3 but in 1966 UK was not unblemished and in the FF and 1992 was an elite 8 game.

Sorry but the loss to Wisky in the FF when UK was 38-0 and led by 4 and had the ball with 4 min takes the proverbial cake.
