Kentucky Lands Transfer RB from NC State

Impressive film, good size, quickness and speed. Nice, soft hands as receiver. Really nice pickup.

Could this be a hint Jefferson's recovery is going slower than expected?

Odd pickup....not highly rated kid and wasn't balling at NC State. Smells like we need more behind Ray Davis for sure in Stoops mind. Not a good sign at all for Lavell Wright or even Jutahn McClain.
Kid can catch the ball out of the backfield which is what Coen wants ALL of our RB’s to be able to do. He has 3 years left and is 210 LB’s which is big enough to bang also.

Probably a sign that Jefferson won’t be as effective coming off knee surgery.

We've increased out blue chip ratio (thanks Bud Elliott) by adding another former 4 star recruit to our roster.

No highly ranked...by who?

Wright was very disappointing last year and McClain is never going to be more than a backup. Davis and Jefferson have 1 year of eligibility then are gone. Sumo has 3 years left.

If you dig, you find out he was injured coming out of HS which set him back, but last year was their 2nd leading rusher and averaged 5.5ypc and averaged over 12 yds a catch out of the backfield. On film, seems a one cut runner with some speed and makes the first guy miss.

I don't think so he's supposedly 100% and held back in spring for precautionary reasons. Smoke and CRod are gone, Wright has struggled which leaves Davis and McClain plus the incoming freshman, and while Jefferson should be good to go you never know how a player is going to come back off of a major injury. Running back has a high injury rate so we really needed 5 with some experience IMO.

Didn’t think of next three years. This staff will go portal route and bypass high school kids if they find the right one

Rivals has him as 3 star out of HS.
As much as we all like to follow the stars its really about timing and opportunity. Many of these kids are supremely talented and excel at the HS level but make poor choices on system, fit and culture when picking a school. I fear it only gets worse but nonetheless a pass catching back with size and D1 experience is nothing to sneeze at. He may walk out of here a cod lock draft pick if this offense runs like we assume it will. He will have lots of opportunity and 3 years to improve.
