A team that regularly scores 60 points will not win the NCAA tournament. Even our 2015 didnt win because of offense. If it’s a one off 60 pt game of course I’d be fine if they won, but if that was the regular scores then no. A team that scores 95 does have a chance to win. You have to score to win. And if I’m stuck watching a team that is t going to win it all except 5% of the time if that, I’d much rather watch a high scoring entertaining team. Style of play matters imo.

I didn’t care for the loss at A&M but it didn’t eat at me either. It’s still a crime that we lost to Wisconsin in 2015 while scoring a measly 64 points with 8 future NBA players on the roster.

Tbh, I like UK basketball and hope they win but it doesn’t really bother me if we lose any more. I think the team is fun and I really like seeing Reed play, a Kentucky boy lighting it up is awesome to me.

I just don’t think 99% of players or our HC puts the name on the front of the jersey as the priority any more and so why should I care as much? Ya know

The goal is not to put out an entertaining product.

Yeah I couldn't care less about style of play. Winning interests me exponentially more than scoring 95 a game.

If we started playing like UVA I wouldn't watch. If, before the charge rule changes, we started teaching flopping and taking charges like Duke, I wouldn't watch.

So yeah, I find it funny that you'd cheer on the team if they played like UVA, or employed (thankfully defunct strategies) like the 4 corners.

Virginia was a very fun team to watch in 2019 (when they won it all). The tournament games against Purdue, Auburn, and TTech were incredibly entertaining.

I would have no problem playing their style if it meant UK was winning championships. Who cares about the style if it nets a championship?

Yep, we all know with our pace of play we can't be both offensive and defensive juggernauts, but we do need to improve defense and rebounding at least 25%. This improvement should offset even the hottest teams like A&M from keeping the game close enough to snag at the end of a high-scoring affair.

the point was the team was fun to watch, I don’t think anyone would argue that the offense was more fun now then it was in a long long time. The defense has definitely regressed to the point that we give up endless layups and open 3s. That’s not fun but at the end of the day, it’s just entertainment. I’ve never been shy about saying my passion for the game has died.
