Kentucky fan from Lexington writes an apology to Higgins

This is just to put UK in a bad light.

Higgins sucked on purpose & it would take a blind bastard to objectively watch that 1st half & say any different. I DO NOT condone death threats at all, but I'm sure no one really meant it. If it causes a little fear in him to disregard the massive amount of hard work student athletes put & be unjust in officiating (whatever his motive) then so be it. I DO NOT feel sorry for him one bit.

You say: "It's just a ballgame!" So you're telling me that excuses officials trying to affect the outcomes of games? I'm sorry, enough of the siding with officials! I'll side with the student athletes that work their asses off & deserve much better. The athletes should decide games, not the zebras who are having fun with this & making $3,000/game & extra benefits on the side.

Higgins & that entire crew deserve all the criticism that comes their way. Same for most officials all year long across college basketball. Some real accountability might clean this crap up.

Sickening.Article on KSR from some idiot called Bryantheintern was similar in it's whining, self righteous stance making Higgins a total victim.

Death threats are WRONG. Period.
David Cooper can kiss my butt. I'm a Kentuckian and he doesn't speak for me.

until it is proven that it was an actual UK with a legit death threat we as a fan base need nothing to apologize for (the facebook deal to his business was not tactful but its not harmful). the NCAA keeps backing a ref that cant be impartial, clearly has an issue with Cal/UK, and seems to really enjoy inserting himself into the game.

Speaks worlds to the intelligence of the person named David Cooper. Not a compliment in case anyone is wondering.

You know what else is simply inexcusable behavior? A referee missing so many blatant calls in the first half against UK. It's also inexcusable that this ref has made some of some his most erroneous calls against us in the tournament(UConn, Wisconsin, etc). Now I don't condone the death threats, but when a ref has a bad history with a team and nothing gets done about it, people are going to take matters into their own hands.

Wow! It's one thing to criticize a ref. It's another thing to make death threats. Whether they are meant or not is a moot issue. Anyone making threats should be locked up.

This dude doesn't speak for me. I don't know where gets off presuming he can speak for anyone but himself. Granted, some UK fans overreacted by calling Higgins, posting bad things on his Facebook page, emailing him and writing bad reviews about his business. The purported death threats are certainly a different matter to the extent such threats were made. I would like to see evidence of this alleged criminal wrongdoing? My sense is Higgins and his law enforcement buddies are milking this melodrama for their 15 minutes of undeserved fame.

On a different matter, how about the NCAA investigating the disproportionate number of losses UK suffers when Higgins is a referee? For Higgins to conclude that he called a good game in the UK/NC travesty is ludicrous in light of the compelling video evidence to the contrary.

I didn't write Higgins but even if I did I would not want anyone speaking for me to apologize.I think the rest of BBN would feel the same.

Locked up? You mean after a trial and a jury verdict, right? Because I hear there is absolutely no evidence of a death threat, except for a guy who we know is a weasel and trying to make himself a victim.

I may write him an apology, too. Dear John, I am very, very, sorry that your inexcusable officiating has cost us 3 National Championships in the past 7 years.
The good news is that whenever he refs our games for the rest of his career he'll be under a microscope.
