Kentucky Did Not Get a SINGLE Vote in the AP Top 25 Poll...

Detroit is going to give us all we want if we continue to turn the rock over 20 times a game.

Time to go 1) TC, 2) Mintz, 3)Boston and play Askew less than 10 min a game until he starts coming along. Heck, Quickley played less than Askew his freshman year and he would have played circles around that kid right now. Everyone isn't an immediate polished product. Time to admit he is a 2-3 year kid and bring him along at a pace that matches that profile.

100%.. although I'd use Mintz at PG. That's his position and he's played it before. I liked that he had solid assist and TO numbers. And his experience.

Either is better than what we are currently doing.

Mintz has experience playing off ball as well at Creighton. Id let Mintz bring the ball up the floor if there is pressure bc he is a steady hand, but TC has the first step to create and start the offensive possession more suited to how Cals best teams play and that frees up Mintz to look for his shot more since he is one of the better shooters on the team.

Our worst teams are the ones where the PG can't beat his man and we are forced to try to start the O with a pass instead of penetration. Our offensive sets just aren't designed to limit dribbling and move the D with quick passing and off ball screens and cuts. That has never been Cals M.O. at any of his stops.

I agree we should not be or do we deserve a top 25 spot.

Our team is struggling in many parts of the game and team chemistry as of right now.

If Askew is still starting this Saturday against Notre Dame it means we are in big trouble. It is obvious that he isn’t the answer, but if he’s still the starter it just means the other options are worse.

Cal won’t be screwing around anymore with a 1-3 record.

Mintz is not the answer at PG. He is a solid veteran 2 guard that fits the role he was brought in to play admirably. Can make the open shot and is an above average defender who can spell the 1 position for small stretches in case of foul trouble. Obviously he would be a step above Askew (who wouldn’t be?), but do you really see Mintz as the PG solution?

Time to play Clarke at the 1 and live with the results. Spell him with Mintz for small stretches but otherwise just tell Clarke to take this offense over. May not be fair to the guy but he seems the type that would be up for the challenge.

But, we can both certainly agree Askew ain’t that guy. Should have been obvious when Cal was still trying to recruit every available PG even after Askew was on board.

I'm not opposed to Clarke.. but man.. I just don't know if he can do it. We'll see.

100% disagree about Mintz. His stat line and experience have showed that he can, if called upon, play the point. He had a good deal of poise in there.

This team has no heart. They have no testosterone. They are weak. They don’t care and it shows.

I don't believe they don't have any heart. I do believe that they are confused, surprised by the difficulty of the college game and so they're overthinking, which makes you look lazy,.

Am I the only one that thinks Clark resembles Rod Rhodes on the court?

Just do not see the upside. I would gamble on Clarke before I would give the keys to Mintz. But at this point ANYTHING is a step up from Askew. Poor thing.

Remember when Cal said UK was the Gold standard, that UK would eat first, and the UK was the needle.
What happened?
Now we hear that this schedule is too hard for UK. That covid was hurting this team. Seems something has changed. Anyone have any idea what?

I can go to any playground in America and pick out a kid with heart. I’m not even talking about talent. Just grit and guts. Most on this team don’t have it. Has nothing to do with being confused. A team that puts it all on the line and loses is different than one that doesn’t put forth effort. This team doesn’t give a shit.

You're wrong. If a player is thinking through everything they're doing then it's going to look like they're not giving maximum effort. Ask any coach in HS or beyond. Proof, none of the fans on here that watch recruiting videos, go to scouting events, etc. said any of these guys didn't compete. I also don't think Cal would recruit a kid that doesn't compete. These guys aren't confident, Cal screams constantly, and in the beginning of the year, without any returning veteran leadership, they don't have confidence but they're trying to do what coach is telling them, so they don't just react, they ahve to think through everything and it makes them look slow and soft.

When is the last time that happened????

what were you expecting? A few first place votes? This team won’t be ranked again this year. Next year when the next 10 show up we won’t be either. Get over it. But hey we set the “record” with them draft picks. Ranked #1 there. Let’s have a parade!!
