Greatest recruiter + Greatest program= 4 FFs and 1 Title in 5 yrs and quite possibly 5 FFs and 2 Titles in 6 yrs.
He's right, and that's a sad indictment on the college basketball landscape. That guy should not have needed this job for legitimacy. I'm glad he's finally getting his recognition, although there's still a sizable portion of people who don't respect him, even among our own fanbase.
Both the program and coach matter. You put the best program with the best recruiter by far and one of the top coaches in the game...the last 6 years are what happen to college basketball.
Exactly. I get so sick and tired of seeing our fans belittle the program by saying programs don't matter, coaches do. It's complete bullshit. Even most players want to play on the big stage. This myth that our program doesn't pull weight for cal needs to die for good. Cal himself believes this program is one the bigger reasons for his dominance.
Good story. I dearly hope Cal doesn't stay at UK for another decade or *gulp* two even, but I am afraid he is really enjoying it and will stick around for at least another five years. Kentucky will always be a favorite for the title as long as he is there.
Dumbest post of the year. Can we start a poll on our fan base who don't respect Cal? How about one that thinks a sleaze ball who destroys his families reputation like pitino is not respected by more. The only people who don't respect Cal are jealous fans and people with agendas. You can also tell how bad your comment is based on ul fans liking. good grief.
You don't think any of those people with agendas are UK fans? You haven't seen anyone say he's a great recruiter but isn't a good X's and O's guy? He's a HoF'er and there are fans that don't think he'll win another title here or that he can't win unless he has supreme talent.
Cut Nets doesn't. Sure, he may say he does from time to time, but its blatantly obvious he does not appreciate Cal and what he's done here. He acts like 4 final fours in the last 5 years with "only" one title is a massive failure. He also states that Cal will never win another title here and that he would rather have Bruce the snitch Pearl coaching than Cal, because the dude with one elite 8 appearance is so great.
Eh.......thinking Cal is a much better recruiter vs. floor coach is not hating, disrespecting, or showing agenda. It's showing you can use your f'ing eyes; however, if his floor coaching matched his recruiting power he'd be a basketball God. Why is it hard for people to understand coaches have strengths and weaknesses. Pointing them out doesn't make a bad fan.
But it wasn't the dumbest post of the year. Jameslee had a great racist anti-white "faux outrage" moment yesterday.
