Kentucky at Vanderbilt - scouting report

Any game(especially road game) is a big win in the SEC this season. This is a game we should be able to win with our B+ game ,as you say we can't afford to drop this one and be in position for a decent seed in the SECT.
My fear is every road game for every team in the SEC will require more than a B+ effort. Road games require an A+ effort. Vandy beat TN, I did not watch the game but I think we need to bring the same the same mindset in Nashville that we need to have in Knoxville. Vandy scares me if our team thinks a B+ effort will get a W, it won't. We are not good enough to give anything but an A+ effort.

Coaches and talking heads always whine about the benches at the end at Vandy. But players couldn’t care less.

Certainly doesn’t bother us. We win more there than Bobby Flay.

Only thing Vandy can hope for is it’s not a blowout. 🏀

I was feeling pretty confident about Saturday until you mentioned Bobby Flay. We are so screwed.

Agree.

If Vandy gives an A effort, a B+ effort from UK won’t be enough.

The game is pretty even meaning whichever team plays better wins in my opinion.

Appreciate the novel. Carr won’t be healthy. Butler won’t be healthy enough to be himself. Best case scenario is we win without needing much from either of them so those two can rest. Second best case scenario, in my mind, is we get buried so quickly that we decide we may as well rest those two anyway.

I like the way our team (healthy) and our style of play matches up against what you’re describing in principle. We shoot amazingly well when we have the freedom to whip the ball back and forth and let the plays heat up. Swipe attempts we can weather. It’s large, mobile guys that defend by playing the odds against the refs and pushing the boundaries of “physical” play that short circuit most of what we do. This is a game where I expect Travis Perry, our freshman third string PG and all-time Kentucky High School leading scorer, to excel in. So hopefully that will compensate for us not having Butler at his peak and keep us from playing him hurt.

Everything’s always different on the hardwood than it is in principle. I’m excited to see these two new coaches go at each other and I expect an exciting, high-energy game regardless of outcome. Thanks for the post and for sticking it to UT.

We wanted Travis Perry bad. He’s a stud.
