Dear lord Macleods curve is nasty. He's putting it anywhere he wants. Estep the latest victim of seeing the bender, but he actually hits it well but the guy in left brings it in.

@Comebakatz3 do you know how many strikeouts Kentucky has so far? They look completely overwhelmed against Macloud.
Let's be honest... this is the first time UK has faced above average pitching. They already do somewhat poorly against lefties... so that makes this that much tougher.

That was a ball that a really good defensive outfielder could bring back. Rhodes had a bead on it but just didn't get the right jump at the wall.

Let's not lose hope yet. This is their ace and the UK offense can be good enough to explode at any point. We are now into their bullpen and we finally have a righty as Brandon Smith comes into the game.

This is where the UK offense has got to wake up. We finally face a righty and it is with our 3-4-5 hitters. So far, Rhodes grounded out. Collett hit the ball hard and it pays off as it bounces off the SS and he reaches. It is an error on State, but UK needs base runners and some luck at this point, so this is a good start. Back to back fairly hard hit balls there.

Once again Harmon looks absolutely lost out there. I just don't think he's ready for SEC pitching. He strikes out for the second out. Kessler now up. Big spot for him. Smith got a courtesy outside corner strike to start the at bat. Kess then fouled one off and took a very close ball inside. Good eye there. Kessler hits away from the shit and gets an infield single. Shifting on Kessler is silly.

Cats going with Rigsby... interesting. I am not a big fan of this. Rigsby has struggled since coming off of injury/Covid whatever. In this spot... you can't afford to give up more runs to State. So just a scary pitcher to throw out there.

Anu tracked it the whole way and brought it in though. Rigsby shuts my mouth by getting a K to end the 7th and sits State down in order. Good job big man!

I absolutely hate that teams cannot or do not merely take the single when they put the shift on. With Any he could bunt to third base and it is a single all day long and then the tying run is at the plate. I get that he has value hitting it deep, but dear lord... just get the free base.
