Cats head to the Derby City this evening. UK usually plays UL pretty tough, so it wouldn't surprise me to see this be a good game, and maybe even a UK win. Will be interesting to see if UK goes with Cotto as they did last week or if they go back to Logue. Neither one pitched this weekend, so it could be either of them. I expect to see both at some point, but just a question of who goes first.

Any thoughts on this one?

11-2 U6...nice weather, beer. Nasty atmosphere of drunks looking for blood. Would go, but not worth the time.

I’ll respectfully disagree with you on this one. I’ve been to a few games and Louisville baseball fans for the most part are pretty reasonable to get along with. Do you have your morons? Absolutely.

As for the game, this one is hard for me to guess at. Both teams had rough weekends and seem to be trending in different directions. Kentucky needs something to go good for them. Plus, it’s a midweek game so all bets are off. But on a toss up, I think you have to give the edge to Louisville.

On a side note, am I the only one who would love to see this matchup go to a weekend series? Play like Clemson and USCjr do. One each at home and then a neutral game that rotates each year at Slugger field and whatever Whitaker Bank is called these days.

I've been to several of these games and could get really nice seats if I chose to go. Got to much going on right now that are taking priority .
You would NEVER get NM to agree to a series vs U6.

Im afraid you’re right on that part. It’s a shame too.

I have to say that I'm not overly impressed with Louisville this year either. Seems like the pollsters really want them to turn it around so they can put them in the top 10 and every time they start to do it, Louisville screws the pooch.

They beat TCU and then sweep Notre Dame and then lose 2 of 3 to Pitt. They then take two of 3 from UNC before getting swept by Florida State.

They're coming off that sweep, so I imagine that they will play pretty mad and focused at home.

This...they started out 6-0 in conference, but are 3-6 since. The kicker... they are still in first place in their division.

The thing with Louisville to me is they just haven’t clicked all year like UofL teams in the past. Pitching has been somewhat inconsistent. Offensively, they hit well and like to run.

I would love to see this happen. I've wanted it for a long time. Maybe the last weekend before conference play starts. We'd get to see both teams' best pitchers compete.

For some reason I thought there was talk of a weekend series back when Henderson was here but couldn’t agree on where to play. I thought there was talk of playing on a neutral field because a home/home could never be agreed upon.

100 percent, this should be done. It is a no-brainer. Heck, even if they don't do a weekend series, you could do a third game at a neutral field and then fans that might not normally get to go to the games can go. You could even play it in Florence or Bowling Green as a more true neutral site.

It's only a bus ride so have a weekend series with a game in JP next day in KPP and then on a yearly basis rotating the rubber game.

Bowling Green could be a stretch. But didn’t UK and Western play a game there a few years ago? But Florence wouldn’t be bad. Sorta in the middle for both teams.

Florence or BG...No one would go.

I don't know what kind of crowd it would draw, but Alabama and Auburn play one game each year in Montgomery at Riverwalk Stadium and it is a huge hit. It is pretty well advertised and people that might not normally go to a college baseball game, due to distance, head to the park to watch the two play. I was going to school down there and went and it was a great time with a really good atmosphere.

Tennessee also played that Tennessee Tech game a week ago at Smokies Stadium, about 20 minutes outside of Knoxville. It too was a big hit as far as I could tell.

Of course, Montgomery is much bigger than both BG and Florence, but my thinking was just to get the games out in a different environment and to get it more exposure and give some other fans some different access. It could very well work in the minor league parks in both cities, but I just kind of like the idea of it really being a more 'true,' neutral site.

Cards get a 2 out 2 strike home run. Cats thought they were out of the inning. Down a run instead.

The announcers for the broadcast are laughing at Logue pointing to the sky on the home run, like he's a moron for thinking it might be in the park. That was absolutely a mistake pitch right over the plate.

The announcers then went through all the excuses Mingione could use for the season so far, " injuries", "ya got what ya got", etc. They are having fun with Kentucky in this game.

"Hudepohl walks himself into a hole..." Isn't that sort of the story of pitching this season?

If you're listening... Cam Hill isn't hitting .200. He's hitting .345
Wonder where he got that stat from? Way off base on that one (no pun intended) I saw on their game notes for the Florida game tonight that he has a 30 game on base streak, I guess that’s what happens when you get to play!

If your listing, even Headrick is starting to sounds frustrated with this crew. Maybe it’s a sign when your radio crew is starting to give up that the end is near.

I'm guessing he misread. Maybe looked at Harmon's stats? Cam also has 18 stolen bases on his own.
